District Athletics Carnival

This Thursday students who qualified will compete at the District Athletics Carnival. They will arrive at school as normal in their sports uniform. Rolls will be marked and students will walk to the High School Oval with the supervising teachers.

Students competing in the 1500m event need to be at the oval at 8:45am prior to the carnival start.

A canteen is available on the day. The attached program is a guide for the day and may change to suit the needs of the schools.

Congratulations to Esther and the Far North Coast Junior Dance Ensemble Jump Scare Troupe, on their successful audition for the NSW Public Schools State Dance Festival!
We are incredibly proud of Esther, who was featured in our HPGE spotlight earlier this year with the goal of qualifying for State Dance in 2026. It’s wonderful to see her dedication and hard work pay off. Our entire school community is thrilled to celebrate this amazing achievement and we can’t wait to hear all about the exciting opportunities ahead.

Our Boys PSSA Touch Football team put in a courageous performance against Evans River on Tuesday, falling just short in a thrilling 7–6 contest.
It was a tough, fast paced game from start to finish with our boys putting it all on the line.
Despite the narrow loss, they showed outstanding sportsmanship. We couldn’t be more proud of the effort and character they displayed. Well done!

Last Friday, we celebrated our 2026 NAIDOC Day together as a school community.
Our student leaders opened the day with a whole school assembly, featuring a heartfelt personal Acknowledgement of Country delivered by one of our Year 6 students.
We were honoured to enjoy a wonderful performance by the Casino High School Deadly Dancers, who also led engaging small group dance activities.
Throughout the day, students created their own individual art story maps, expressing their connection to culture and community.
Stories were shared, kangaroo stew savoured, and rich yarns exchanged on the yarnning circle with our special guests.
