🐢 Myrtle's Special Visit to the Toddler Room! 🐢

Myrtle, our much-loved turtle, is usually busy greeting all of our children and families from her tank in the foyer each morning. This week, however, the children in our Family Grouping were very eager to meet her a little more closely!

We carefully placed Myrtle into a large clear tub so everyone could safely observe her. Sitting together in a circle, the children were full of wonderful questions and curiosity. They asked, "What does Myrtle eat?", "Will she bite?", "Where do turtles live?", and "Does she have fingers or toes?"

Together, we explored where turtles live, what they like to eat, what Myrtle's shell feels like, and learnt more about her unique features. The highlight of the experience was watching Myrtle enjoy a delicious mealworm for breakfast!

Of course, this sparked another question... "Would anyone like mealworms for morning tea instead of fruit?" 🪱🍎

The answer was a very loud and enthusiastic... NO! 😂

These hands-on experiences provide wonderful opportunities for children to ask questions, build confidence in exploring the natural world, and develop a deeper understanding and respect for living things. Thank you, Myrtle, for being such a patient teacher! 💚🐢

What an incredible Pyjama Week we had! 💤✨

We are so grateful to our wonderful children, families and educators for getting involved, dressing up in your cosy pyjamas, participating in our fun pyjama-themed learning experiences, and supporting such an important cause.

Thanks to your generosity through our gold coin donations and the delicious cupcakes purchased throughout the week, we are thrilled to announce that together we raised $172.50 for the Pyjama Foundation! 🎉

Every dollar raised will help support children in foster care by providing opportunities to learn, connect and thrive. Your kindness and community spirit have made a real difference.

🌟 Meet the Team – Christine, Our Wonderful Administration Assistant! 🌟

This week we're excited to introduce you to the friendly face who is often the very first person to welcome families to our centre – Christine! 💛

As our Administration Assistant, Christine is the first point of contact for many of our families. Whether she's conducting centre tours, guiding families through the enrolment process, or answering the phone with a warm smile, she helps make every family's journey with us a positive and welcoming experience.

Christine brings over 20 years of administration experience, gained across both Switzerland and Australia. For the past two years, she has been a valued member of the Goodstart Kyneton team, supporting families from their very first enquiry and helping them feel at home from day one.

When she's not at the centre, Christine enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, going for walks, getting creative with arts and crafts, and being actively involved in her local community.

Thank you, Christine, for your kindness, dedication, and the care you show every family who walks through our doors. We are so grateful to have you as part of our Goodstart Kyneton family! 💚

🎨Our littlest artists have been busy exploring the joy of painting!

Our nursery children are discovering, creating, and expressing themselves in their own unique ways. These simple moments of play help build confidence, curiosity, help develop fine motor skills, colour recognition and a love of learning. 💛

🌼 Meet the Educator – Jess | Nursery Room Leader 🌼

We're excited to introduce Jess, our wonderful Nursery Room Leader!

Jess has been working in Early Childhood Education for the past three years, beginning her journey with us as a trainee. Through her dedication and passion for early learning, she successfully completed both her Certificate III and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, and we couldn't be prouder to have watched her grow into the amazing educator she is today.

With her calm, caring nature and gentle approach, Jess has built beautiful relationships with our children and their families. She creates a warm, nurturing environment where our youngest learners feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore the world around them.

When she's not at the centre, Jess enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, travelling and discovering new places, and maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle.

We're so grateful to have Jess leading our Nursery Room and know you'll love getting to know her just as much as we do! 💚

🧸💙 Join Our National Pyjama Day Fundraiser! 💙🧸

We're excited to be taking part in National Pyjama Day and we'd love our wonderful families to help us make a difference!

Next week, children are invited to wear their favourite pyjamas to the centre and bring along a gold coin donation to support the incredible work of The Pyjama Foundation, helping children in foster care with learning, life skills and confidence.

🍰 Sweet Treat Alert! We'll also have delicious chocolate and vanilla cupcakes available for purchase for $2 each, with all proceeds going towards our fundraising efforts.
