We are looking for a part time Administration & Retail Assistant to join us starting ASAP. It is an onsite position based in Kyneton, 5-10 hours a week and paying award under award MA000080.

This role involves manning the retail space, engaging customers, handling sales, and supporting the administrative and marketing functions of our creative hub. The ideal candidate will be personable, organised, and comfortable working independently or as part of a small team.

Our self paced social glass classes allow students to work on their own individual projects in any glass medium from fusing, copper foil, Leadlight or mosaics. Our 2 hour classes are from 10am, 1pm or 7pm several days a week, get in touch to sign up now! Call 5422 2924

Hades & Ishta are very concerned about the new team member coming to The Old Auction House end of February 2026.

Jo & Rhain however are are so excited for the long awaited new addition to our family, and Ettore is looking forward to having a new coffee date.

Operationally nothing much is going to change around here but as the due date gets closer, you may see us a little less for a little bit, but there’s definitely already more of Rhain to see!

Lots of our students have been coming for a while, some a couple of terms while others over 20 years to our Woodend Studio and now Kyneton Glass Studio.

While many start off making light catchers, platters, mosaics and leadlights for themselves most end up making beautiful thoughtful gifts for their friends birthdays and Christmas presents, that is when they aren't too busy chatting! Like this serene beach scene just completed by Belinda for her friend's beach house!

We love seeing what students are making in our term classes, we have just hit half way through the term and look at this beautiful leadlight panel that Deb just finished!

We love that no two term students are every working on the same project, although being able to remember where all the students are up to in their 80+ projects might just be Rhain's Super Power.

Ettore has been running Leadlight Classes for over 30 years in the Macedon Ranges and Rhain has been teaching alongside him for the last 10 years. Over the years they added copper foil, fusing, mosaic and sandblasting to the techniques that students can learn.

Each student chooses their own project, everything from making leadlight windows for their house, your own custom glass platters, gorgeous light catchers or glass lamps to add colour to your and your friends homes or if you just want to do something creative while chatting and sipping coffee with a brilliant group of humans, come find out why we have 80+ term students each week, plus over 250 weekend workshop students each year!

When we moved out of the garage that had served as the home for our Leadlighting studio since the early 80's the students had thoughts (so did OH&S), more light to see the beautiful glass, more heat (goodbye uninsulated garage above 600m in Woodend!), suitable for all abilities (walker/wheelchair suitable) and better coffee (just throw the drip pot out!).

We have been in here for over 8 years now and still love our studio everyday! Come find out why for yourself!

Join us for Term 3 in our Weekday Glass Arts Sessions located in our Kyneton Studio.
Our classes run for 2 hours for 10 weeks in line with the start of Vic Govt. school terms which is the 21st of July this term.

Each student works at their own pace on their choice of a glass project in any of our glass mediums including; Fusing, Copper Foil, Leadlight or Mosaics. With small classes of 12 students with two teachers these are such an enjoyable social art class some of our students have been coming for more than 25 years! 🤯

Current Term Fees are $250 for the first term and $200 for returning students plus materials for your projects (depending on what you want to make, normally around $50-200)

One of our students is creating their own inclusions for future platters by creating frit paintings of some colourful flowers and leaves. Can't wait to see what they create in the next few weeks!

Laurie has been firing layers into this geometric face adding dimension and interest, by working with fully fused and tack fused and now about to be slumped to shape.
One of the benefits of being a term student is that the firing of term students work is included so you can add elements as you desire.
