Yesterday our VCE Music students had the incredible opportunity to learn from internationally renowned guitarist Alex Tsiboulski. Students took part in a masterclass, private lessons and enjoyed a captivating concert.
A former Fulbright Scholar and winner of major international competitions, Alex shared his expertise in stagecraft, musical interpretation and technique. His recital showcased works ranging from the 1820s through to contemporary guitar repertoire.
We are extremely grateful to Alex for his time, insight and inspiring performance.

Today, our Sustainability Leaders organised a whole-school litter pick-up competition to help care for our environment and raise awareness about the impact of litter.
With teams competing enthusiastically across the school grounds, students collected an incredible 537 pieces of litter in a single lunchtime!
A huge congratulations to all students who participated. Every piece of litter removed helps create a cleaner, healthier environment for our school and local community.
Small actions can make a big difference.

As part of National Reconciliation Week, the Sacred Heart College community gathered for our annual Makarrata Assembly - honouring truth-telling, justice, and walking alongside First Nations peoples.
The word Makarrata, from the Yolngu language, means βcoming together after a struggle.β This spirit shaped the focus of the assembly as students and staff reflected on reconciliation through listening, relationship, and action. The assembly opened with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Taungurung Elder Peter Moser.
We proudly reaffirm our commitment to inclusion, rejecting racism and intolerance, and being people of peace. Highlights included the College Choir performing Beds Are Burning and the commissioning of new FIRE Carriers - students committed to advancing reconciliation through education, faith, and action.

Today marks the start of National Reconciliation Week. This year's NRW theme is 'All In' - a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. We look forward to gathering as a College tomorrow for our annual Makarrata Assembly, an opportunity to pause and reflect on our commitment to reconciliation, truth-telling, and walking gently and justly alongside First Nations peoples.
