Our preschool children enjoyed a colourful yarn-wrapping activity, using a variety of colours to create their own unique designs. As they worked, many gave their creations imaginative names, including "volcano stick" and "fishing rod."

This engaging hands-on experience supported the development of fine motor skills, creativity, concentration, and self-expression while encouraging children to share their ideas with friends and educators.

Today, on International Day of Friendship, we celebrate the friendships that brighten our days, lift us up, and remind us that everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and included. Here's to the power of compassion, laughter, and the simple moments that bring us together. Happy International Day of Friendship!

Did you know? ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

Our nursery is a shoe-free environment.

Babies spend much of their day crawling, rolling, sitting, and exploring on the floor. By asking everyone to remove their shoes before entering, we help reduce dirt, germs, and outdoor contaminants being brought into their learning space.

It's a simple practice that supports a cleaner, more hygienic environment where our youngest children can play, discover, and thrive safely.

Thank you to our families and visitors for helping us maintain this special space. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒพ Using black oil and a collection of farm animals, the children created their very own miniature farm world in the tuff tray. Little hands were busy arranging cows, horses, sheep and pigs amongst bright green trees and water troughs, exploring the unique texture of the oil as they moved their animals around. The sensory experience was rich and engaging, with the children discovering how the oil felt different to other materials they've explored before. We watched as they positioned each animal thoughtfully, experimenting with the slippery surface and developing their fine motor skills through careful placement and movement. The collaborative nature of the play was beautiful to observe, with the children gathered around together, taking turns and sharing ideas about where the animals might live and roam. A truly immersive learning experience that sparked curiosity, creativity and lots of joyful conversation about farm life!

The children were captivated by our mixed sensory tray filled with chia seeds, pasta, and popcorn kernels. We watched as little hands reached for measuring cups, tongs, and spoons, practising their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they scooped, poured, and transferred the different textures. The children were delighted to 'feed' the animal friends positioned around the tray, showing such gentle care and focus as they navigated the tongs and carefully aimed for each mouth. You could see their concentration and determination as they worked with the different tools, building those important early maths and science skills through hands-on play. The lovely sunshine added to the relaxed, exploratory atmosphereโ€”it was beautiful to see everyone so engaged and curious! ๐Ÿท

Today the Koalas became little chefs in our very own taste-safe sensory MasterChef experience! ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ The children gathered around large bowls filled with Greek yoghurt and cornflour, taking turns to mix and stir the ingredients together.

You could see the focus on their faces as they worked those utensils, building their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination with every stir. Our educators were right there offering gentle guidance and encouragement, supporting the children to take their time and explore the changing textures.

After rest time, the real fun began! The children spread their gooey mixture across biscuits using plastic knives, then chose toppings from cornflakes, Rice Bubbles, and Weetbix. This hands-on cooking experience supported so many areas of learning - following instructions, making choices, practising safety with tools, and of course, the joy of tasting their own creations! What a delicious way to learn.

The children gathered around our water play trough, engaged in discovering how water interacts with floating objects. We set up colourful pool noodle circles and playful sea creature floaters, and it was beautiful to watch the children's curiosity unfold. Little hands reached in to splash, scoop, and test whether objects would sink or float, strengthening their understanding of cause and effect. The collaboration was lovely to see, with children naturally taking turns and sharing space around the trough, building important social skills while they played. Water play offers such rich learning opportunities, from early mathematical concepts to fine motor development as they grasp and manipulate objects. The focused expressions and gentle interactions show just how absorbing and calming sensory play can be for our little ones.
