Please support Kuranda Community Kindergarten by coming to our open day. Look at joining the wait list for 2027 or enrolling your Kindergarten age child in our play-based learning program. Kuranda Community Kindergarten can only continue to stay open if we can increase our numbers moving forward. We don’t want any children now or in the future to miss out on this important stage in life.
• Kindergarten complements homeschooling!
Look at kindergarten as a Foundation for Homeschooling: Our Kindergarten is a preparatory step for homeschooling. It allows children to practice interacting with other early years trained adults and peers, which builds a strong base for future life skills, social skills and emotional resilience as well as confidence in group activities and co-ops within a home education setting.
• We have a strong focus on our relationship with bulmba (place)
Nature-Based Learning: Our kindergarten’s unique rainforest setting (rocks, sand, dirt, trees, water) is a key part of the educational experience, providing nature “provocations” for children to access their own interests in a safe yet natural learning environment.

No obligation to join the wait list just a fun day to come and have a play. We will have engaging experiences like a sensory table with Oobleck slime, playdough table, the fairy garden to explore, a mud kitchen, a snow cone machine, and bubbles. Please feel welcoming.
