Dear Parents,
Due to the extreme wet weather conditions and flooded roads leading to the mosque, along with requests from some parents, Madrasah has been cancelled for today in order to ensure the safety of all parents, students, and staff members.
Insha’Allah, we will see you all tomorrow.
Apologies for the late notice, we were monitoring the roads and the weather for the past hours.

See you all Tuesday InshaaAllah 🤲🏻
We have been very busy in Grade 3. We have spent the early weeks of the term establishing our routines and expectations. It was slow in the beginning but as we moved towards the end of the term students have met and some exceeded class expectations. The routines included manner entering the classroom, during lessons, around solah and leaving the classroom at the end of madrasah time.
In Iqra and Quran readings, I am proud to say that most students went above expectations. We had 9 students moved to higher books or Quran and all of the 4 Quran students are also progressing in their memorisation of Juz 30 beside their daily reading.
As for Islamic studies for this term, we had details look into each of the Pillars of Imaan. We had 4 quizzes through the term and students have gained a lot from it.
On our last week, two students named Affaan Sarwar and Zainab Saleha Sayed were chosen as Students of Term based on their best manner and conduct and their excellent in Iqra and Quran reading. Well done Grade 3 and looking forward to a wonderful term 2.

The Prep and Grade One class have had a wonderful term beginning their learning journey at madrassah. It has been fantastic to see them coming together and working with each other in the classroom. This term we started with a role play activity of “Our little teachers” where students work in two groups and take on the roles of teacher and students to revise their Arabic letters. It has been amazing to see how engaged they were when taking the initiative to work with one another, the joy and fun elements it brings to their learning. This reflects into our Iqra reading where they work together in groups/pairs to read to each other resulting in each students’ motivation in reading.
This term in Islamic Studies we have covered the topics of:
* Who Allah is and his attributes? (Al-Khaliq)
* What Ramadan and Eid is?
* The 5 pillars of Islam.
The students have completed colouring/worksheets and have made some beautiful learning artefacts which you may have seen them take home or pasted into their communication books. We as a class always love sitting in a circle and having discussions about the way we use what Allah gives us and the importance of gratitude through reflecting on our days together. Recently as a brain break the Preps and Year 1’s stepped outside to collect 10 leaves that had fallen from the trees by the wind to create a picture. It was awesome to see their creativity and hear their stories behind their leaf creation.
In our class we love watching Omar and Hana to learn about manners, gratitude and the topics we learn in class. It’s been nice to see the way they all surround each other and support each other in and out of class.
Furthermore, we have started learning how to pray Salaah, the names of the positions and what to say through our Salaah game and by praying maghrib. During this we have used it to practice our memorisation of Surah Fatiha and Surah Ikhlaas. It’s been beautiful to see the ways the Preps and Year 1’s have bonded with each other to learn from one another and become friends.
We are looking forward to a beautiful term 2 InshaAllah. Mu’alimah Najmah
Over the course of the Term 1, Grade 4 class made encouraging progress Iqra Book reading and The Holy Quran. Students have become more confident in recognising blending sounds, and reading with increased fluency and accuracy. Their pronunciation and application of basic tajweed rules continue to improve through regular practice. In memorisation, many students have successfully learned and retained new surahs, demonstrating focus and hardwork. The use of rewards such as lollies and toys after finishing a book/Surah has provided additional motivation. It helped to create a positive and engaging learning environment. It got them take pride in their work and helped others to get motivated to achieve similar goals.

The Grades 2 class had a wonderful term 1, with lots of fun and all the children had remarkable behaviour.
Adam was the star student and is improving quickly in recitation, he is also hardworking.
We have completed memorising Surah al Masad, and are working on Surah an Nasr.
We implemented a new technique, where the students pair up to practice their Iqra page. This has kept them engaged to finish the page, and reading out loud.
Lastly, we implemented a list of class rules.
The rules were introduced in a very fun, interactive way to make the kids love them by role play.
The class is kept fun and lively so the students want to participate and the rules must be followed without compromise, so the students display respect.
Looking forward to a busy Term 2

Assalamu alaikum dear parents,
Due to the severe thunderstorm warnings issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, we’ve made the decision to cancel Madrasah for today. We know this may be inconvenient, and we sincerely apologise.
Please forgive us if the weather ends up being less severe than expected at the exact time of class. Our priority is the safety of our teachers driving in and the safety of all families. With the current forecasts of heavy rain, damaging winds, and possible hail, we felt it was best to take precaution.
May Allah keep everyone safe and protect our community.
Jazakum Allahu khayran for your understanding and support.
