Lots of learning happening this week across all of our classrooms. As well as a special visit from the dental clinic, a focus on our environment through recycling, a big birthday celebration for Mr Kieran and a huge congratulations to our award winners at assembly. A reminder Thursday 21st May and Friday 22nd May are pupil free days this week so school will be CLOSED.

On Thursday night the Kundat Djaru Community came together for a candlelight vigil in memory of the precious Kumamjayi Baby Girl.

Through prayer, song, candlelight and the strength of a community joining together as one….we see you, we remember you, we light the way. RIP Angel 🕯️🙏🏾 🩷

Congratulations to our Week 3 Award Winners! It was an exciting week at Birlirr Ngawiyiwu with The Bike Creative running bike safety and maintenance lessons with our senior students, including donating bikes, through Bikes for Humanity WA, to the students. They are loving this new mode of transport throughout community!

Congratulations to our Week 2 Award Winners!
A busy week at Birlirr Ngawiyiwu School…
‘Bush Tukka Woman’ Samm Martin did a live virtual presentation of her new book as a gift to the school.
Lots of learning going on both in and out of our classrooms.
Next week…an exciting surprise experience awaits our Senior students. Stay tuned!

What a fantastic week to begin Term 2, including a special smoking ceremony to welcome our new Principal, Miss Holly.

Highlights of Week 1:
Jaru language lessons with Miss Pauline
Recreating the famous story ‘The 3 Billy Goats Gruff’
Going for a whole school walk around the community, collecting cans and bottles for recycling and fundraising through the ‘containers for change’ program
A close footy match during Friday sport.
Finishing with assembly and a student birthday celebration including cake made fresh by the students.
Congratulations to all award winners.
