Let’s celebrate the incredible work of educators in Out of School Hours Care services across Australia. OSHC educators play an important role in children’s lives before school, after school, during holidays and on pupil-free days, creating safe, supportive and engaging environments where children can relax, connect, learn and play.

In 2026, OSHC Educators Day will be celebrated on Thursday 30 July. This special day is an opportunity to recognise the dedication, care and creativity of educators who support children’s wellbeing, friendships, independence and sense of belonging outside the classroom.

Let’s take the time to say thank you and acknowledge the valuable contribution OSHC educators make to children, families and communities every day.

Schools Tree Day is a wonderful opportunity for children, educators and school communities to connect with nature and take positive action for the environment. By planting trees, caring for gardens and learning about local ecosystems, children can discover the important role trees play in providing shade, clean air, habitats for wildlife and healthier outdoor spaces.

This special day encourages hands-on learning, teamwork and a sense of responsibility for the world around us.
It also gives children the chance to see how small actions, such as planting a seedling or caring for a garden bed, can make a meaningful difference over time.

In 2026, Schools Tree Day will be held on Friday 24 July, with National Tree Day on Sunday 26 July. Let’s inspire children to care for Country, protect nature and grow a greener future together.

🌟 What a fantastic Vacation Care! 🌟

We've had an incredible couple of weeks filled with fun, laughter, creativity and adventure!

From Roundabout Circus, Ninja Warrior Gym and CWA activities, to science experiments, RC car racing, plaster painting, handball tournaments, soccer, obstacle courses, and so much more, there has been something for everyone to enjoy.

It has been wonderful to see children making new friendships, trying new experiences, working together, and building their confidence through play. Their enthusiasm, creativity and smiles made every day special.

A huge thank you to our amazing educators, special visitors, and families for helping make these holidays such a success. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

We can't wait to welcome everyone back for another exciting term at Mountain BASC!

NAIDOC Week is a special time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is an opportunity for families, communities and early learning services to honour the strength, knowledge and ongoing contributions of the world’s oldest continuing cultures.

The 2026 theme, “50 Years of Deadly”, marks five decades of NAIDOC Week and celebrates the powerful legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, stories and leadership. Let’s take time to listen, learn, celebrate culture and support children to build respect, connection and understanding. Learn more and join in this national celebration led by the National NAIDOC Committee.

International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness around the world about the many benefits of practising yoga for physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Yoga is an ancient practice that originated in India and focuses on the connection between the body, mind and breath.

The word yoga comes from Sanskrit and means “to unite” or “to join,” symbolising harmony between body and consciousness. Yoga can include movement, stretching, breathing exercises, mindfulness and relaxation techniques that support overall health and wellbeing.

Each year, International Day of Yoga encourages people of all ages and abilities to explore yoga in ways that feel positive and accessible. Yoga can help promote balance, calmness, strength, flexibility and emotional regulation, making it a valuable wellbeing practice for both children and adults.

In 2026, communities across the world will once again come together to celebrate the holistic benefits of yoga and encourage healthy habits that support lifelong wellbeing.

What an incredible Vacation Care program we’ve had! 🌟

Over the holidays, children explored a wide range of exciting activities—from creative arts and crafts to active games, construction challenges, and hands-on experiences. Each day was filled with opportunities for children to build friendships, try new things, and express their creativity in a fun and supportive environment.

A highlight of the program was our Ninja Gym incursion, where children had the chance to challenge themselves physically and develop confidence through movement and play.

We loved seeing so much laughter, teamwork, and imagination throughout the program. Thank you to all our families for being part of such a fantastic Vacation Care—we can’t wait to do it all again next time! 💛
