Our preschool room was buzzing today as the children explored real reptiles up close. They learnt about different textures, habitats, gentle handling, and how reptiles keep themselves safe in the wild. So much bravery, wonder and meaningful learning in one afternoon 🦎

Learning through nature 🌿✨

Today, our little learners explored creativity, culture, and connection by using natural resources to create symbols in the sand. Through hands-on play, children developed their imagination, fine motor skills, and understanding of how symbols can be used to communicate ideas and tell stories.

When engaging with natural materials, children are encouraged to observe, explore, and appreciate the world around them while expressing themselves in meaningful ways.

🌎 Small World Activity 🌱

To celebrate Earth Day, the Frogs created their very own miniature world! Using blue paper to represent the oceans and damp cotton with grass seeds for the land, the children worked together to carefully build and grow their small world.

Each child took turns placing cotton balls and sprinkling grass seeds, encouraging teamwork, collaboration, and conversations about caring for our planet. We can’t wait to continue nurturing our little world and watch the grass grow over the coming weeks!

🐣 Chicken Hatching at Our Service 🐣

Our centre has loved welcoming baby chicks into our learning environment! The preschool children explored the life cycle of chickens through hands-on learning and discussions, while our toddlers enjoyed creating beautiful chicken paintings. All of the children were excited to meet, observe, and care for the chicks, creating wonderful opportunities for curiosity, connection, and learning through nature.
