Our story
A much loved part of the community, Uniting Preschool Adamstown Heights has been nurturing confident and creative learners for more than 30 years. Operating during school terms, Adamstown Heights Preschool caters for 30 children per day through the implementation of a high quality, flexible, simultaneous indoor outdoor program where children choose the focus of their learning.
With a strong focus on building positive relationships, the team at Adamstown Heights Preschool work closely with children, families and our local community to ensure that all children are given opportunities to develop to their full potential within a community where being, belonging and becoming are at the core of everything we do. An experienced and dedicated team of Early Childhood professionals develop individual programs and experiences which build on children’s strengths and interests and foster a love of learning.
Located close to the Newcastle CBD but tucked away in a leafy setting, Adamstown Heights Preschool has a strong focus on nature play, sustainable practices and developing children with a deep sense of social justice and equity. Our future leaders are given opportunities to contribute to their world through roles such as preschool leaders, cooperation champion, Seemore Safety Officer, Sparky the Electrician and Water-wise owl. Deep connections to our indigenous culture are evident from the time you enter the preschool with children engaging in culture sharing experiences weekly with Indigenous students from Belmont High School, undertaking an Acknowledgement of Country each morning at our yarning circle and the embedding of Aboriginal perspectives in all aspects of our curriculum.
Uniting Preschool Adamstown Heights is rated as exceeding the National Quality Standard and works within the National Quality Framework. This external link will open in a new window.
