What a day at the Coffs Running Festival on Sunday! We are incredibly proud of our Kororo teachers and students who took on the challenge across the running events. Teachers who tackled the half marathon were cheered on by Kororo families at every turn. Our students showed incredible determination across the 10km, 5km, 3km and 1km events. With personal bests, red faces and big smiles, our Kororo community showed what it means to keep going and give things a go! ❤️

In recognition of Literacy and Numeracy Week, we would like to share with our community some of the work our teachers are engaging in as part of their professional learning. This term, teachers are refining their Daily Review and Fluency in mathematics. Here, Mrs Burns, Mrs Edwards and Mr P are visiting 2 Blue to observe one of Mrs Portelli’s lessons and provide feedback. Just as our students, our teachers also give and receive feedback to ensure we’re always learning and improving! Kororo really is a great place to learn.

🎭📚 Book Week Character Parade: Symphony of Stories 🎶✨

Today our school was alive with creativity as students brought their favourite book characters to life for our Book Week parade! This year’s theme, Symphony of Stories, celebrated the unique voices and adventures found in every story.

From classic heroes to imaginative new creations, each costume was a note in our symphony, showing how reading opens a world of possibilities. Thank you to all our students, families, and staff for making this event so magical!

The Kororo girls played an intense and hard fought game against Coffs Harbour Public School, showing incredible perseverance, determination, and teamwork from start to finish.

It was truly anyone’s game, with both teams battling hard, but the girls held their nerve and came away with a thrilling 2-0 VICTORY with 2 magnificent goals!

On 25 August, the Kororo Boys’ Touch Football Team met Macksville Public School in the regional quarter-final. Macksville gained an early lead, scoring a try within the first 30 seconds. Kororo responded with impressive teamwork and several moments of individual brilliance, taking a 3–2 lead into half-time.
A thrilling second half followed, with the evenly matched teams battling hard to gain ground. Cooper W cemented the victory with a flying try on the final buzzer, giving Kororo an impressive 5–2 win.
Next, we face Hastings Public School in the Regional Semi Finals. Stay tuned.

🏀 NORTH COAST FINALISTS! 🏀

What a performance from our Kororo Public School Boys PSSA Basketball Team last Thursday! 💚💛

The boys took on Mullumbimby PS in the North Coast Final and were narrowly defeated in a hard-fought contest.

Their pride, determination and defensive effort were outstanding from start to finish. They never gave up, worked tirelessly for each other and represented Kororo Public School with incredible sportsmanship and pride.

To make it all the way to a North Coast Final is an amazing achievement. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves! 👏🏀

🏆🏉 REGIONAL CHAMPIONS! 🏉🏆

What an incredible achievement for our Kororo Public School Girls AFL team, who have been crowned Regional Champions and earned their place at the State Championships! 🎉

With just 10 players available for a 12-a-side competition, the challenge was huge — but the girls never let that stop them. They showed outstanding determination, teamwork and resilience, supporting one another and giving everything they had throughout the day.

Every player played an important role, contributing their skills and determination to this fantastic outcome. 💚💚

A huge thank you to Khaila Chalker for generously volunteering her time to help the girls develop their skills and learn the game, and to Mr Parkins and Mrs Morgan for their dedication, hard work and commitment in preparing the team.
