Last week the students in Grade 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed a great day of learning about Earth and Space on our excursion.

Firstly, we went to IMAX to watch 'A Beautiful Planet' in 3D, then on to the picturesque St Kilda foreshore to find the planets along the Solar System trail, discovering the size and distance of each planet to scale in comparison to the sun. Thankfully the weather held out! ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒ

Grade 2/3 students had the wonderful opportunity to visit IMAX at the end of Term 2.

During their excursion, children were treated to a special screening of โ€œAustralia 3Dโ€. The film linked directly to our inquiry topic of Australia and its neighbouring countries. Students learnt many new facts, such as Australia being previously connected to Antarctica and other neighbouring countries as part of Gondwana Land.

We also enjoyed our snack and lunch at the fun-filled Carlton Gardens playground.

A great time was had by all!

Last Term saw our Grade 5 & 6 students take part in the District Interschool Winter Sports with students playing Netball, Soccer or AFL 9's. This was a fantastic day and a great way for our students to socialise with their peers from neighbouring schools.

Congratulations to everyone for a wonderful display of sportsmanship at this event.

Last Term our Foundation and Grade One students enjoyed an excursion to the Koo Wee Rup Historical Society Museum.

In Term 2 we explored Geography, learning about where we live in the world and a deeper look into the local area of Koo Wee Rup. It was wonderful to see the students making so many new discoveries about the Koo Wee Rup area by looking at historical photos, artefacts and listening to stories of the past.

We also got to spend time looking around the local area on our walk to the Museum, students enjoyed playing outside on the local playground and wrote about what they had seen and learnt on their return to school.
