💙 A Tribute to Our Dads, Grandads & Special Friends This Father’s Day 💙

The People Who Stand Beside Us:

Some people teach us how to try,
To have a go and reach up high.
Some cheer us on when things are tough,
And tell us that we’re good enough.

Some teach us how to ride and run,
To work, to laugh and have some fun.
Some listen when we need to talk,
Or hold our hand when things are tough.

They might be a Dad, a Grandad too,
An uncle, a carer, someone new.
What matters most, in all we do,
Is having someone who sees us through.

So today we celebrate with cheer,
The special people we hold dear.
Thank you for all the things you do
For being there and seeing us through.

Today we celebrate the incredible dads, grandads and special friends who show up, support us, encourage us and make a difference in the lives of our children every single day.

It was wonderful to welcome our dads, grandads and special friends to our Father’s Day Breakfast on Friday morning.

There were loaded sausages, plenty of conversation and some serious sporting action! 🏏⚽

Thank you for taking the time to show up, get involved and make memories with our students. You are amazing, and we hope you know just how much you are appreciated, today and every day.

Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads, grandads and special people in our Kongorong Primary School community. 💙

✨ Book Week Adventures at KPS! ✨

What a HUGE week of fun, creativity and all things reading at Kongorong Primary School!

Monday: We kicked off the celebrations with our Book Week Parade, with so many wonderfully creative costumes on display!

Tuesday: Students enjoyed classroom activities inspired by Derek, creating fish bowls and a special friend for Derek so he would never be alone and The Frog's First Song, with frogs jumping right out of wells!

Wednesday: Our R–2 students joined a virtual workshop with Andy Lee, learning how he came up with the ideas and illustrations for his books. The whole school also enjoyed a fun Where’s Wally? hunt at recess!

Thursday: Years 3–6 met virtually with author Matt Stanton, who shared his process for creating his new book all about Duck.

Friday: We wrapped up the week with WOOF, Wear Orange for Story Dogs and a virtual session with illustrator Jason Pamment, who took us through his creative process from stick figures, to marionettes, to adding all the important details. Check out Leo and Mr Griffith’s handy artwork! 🧡🐕

It was a huge week of fun, and inspiring a love of reading and all things books is what Book Week is all about! 📖❤️

A big thank you to our parents for all their efforts in coordinating another epic costume parade, and to our teachers for planning and coordinating so many wonderful activities throughout the week.

We’re proud to be a Resilience Project school at Kongorong Primary! 🙌🏻

Each week, our students build their wellbeing toolkit through Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM), learning practical strategies to manage emotions, navigate challenges, build positive relationships and bounce back when things don’t go to plan.

With youth mental health challenges continuing to grow, building these skills early really matters.

We’re proud to be helping our students develop the resilience and wellbeing skills they need to thrive.
