We are back! And it is soooo good to be back. Sessions are still progressively coming online, please be patient with us during this time.

Important Update:
Warning, it is a long one.

On what should have been our first day of term, we have received some very sad news indeed.

Knox City Council has advised we are unable to return until further notice.

Given COVID-19 is here to stay, and if anything our hospitalisation numbers are well below where we anticipated them being at this point, Knox Community Playgroups Inc fails to understand council's perspective.

In facilities that share a foyer, we would understand council asking us not to operate on days that kindergarten is in session. We respect their workplace bubbles and could juggle that. There are even centers with separate buildings and Playgroups in buildings with no kindergarten for 2022. A blanket policy to shut all facilities is shameful.

We had over 500 families enrolled to commence playgroup this term and it feels like a complete and utter waste of our volunteer’s time.

We will contact all families as soon as possible to advise all Playgroup sessions are canceled until further notice. Unfortunately, we lack the resources and volunteers to connect people outside of these council facilities. We encourage you to join our private group to connect with others and host your own informal catch-ups in parks. Knox Community Playgroups Inc Members

At this stage, we will anticipate a term 2 return and all events will be adjusted to reflect this, but it feels like the intent is to shut us out for the whole of 2022.

Please understand this is not our decision and we encourage you to direct your complaints to Sharon Bradford [email protected] and to contact your local councilor.

We are in the summer edition of Knox Monash Kids!

It is my absolute pleasure to be running these Community Playgroups! ❤❤

I really value these spaces, where parents and children can come together, to meet, play and socialise. It is so, so important to connect with other parents in our community, to find your tribe, and not be isolated.

Last year we had over 500 families enrolled. I want to smash this goal. Tell your friends, talk to your New Parent Group and come join a community playgroup! 10 sites across Knox, private session times available, FREE, and lots of friendly faces.

Unfortunately, Knox City Council has advised we will be unable to return to Playgroup in 2021.

This decision affects all community playgroups and external services that licence council Playgroup spaces. Councils across Victoria appear to be divided, some have allowed Community Playgroups to return, while others have not, and while it is upsetting, we respect Knox Councils' decision.

If comments get out of hand, commenting will be turned off for this post. Please be respectful.

We will be returning in 2022, bigger than before! Tickets for 2022 will go live to the public in the next two weeks or so with additional sessions available across all 10 playgroup sites.

We cannot wait to welcome you back to come and PLAY!

Hi Everyone,

Just to confirm at the moment we are still closed. Knox Council is working on getting us information, and we will have to go through an opening process to ensure we are meeting our Covid Safe requirements.

I know some people are super keen to return, and others not so much. There are lots of unknowns at this stage, but we will try to keep you updated as we go on.

If your whole session decides they don't feel comfortable returning in term 4, don't stress, it's completely okay, you won't loose your spot for 2022.

Emails will come out shortly.

Good Morning Playgroupers and welcome to lockdown 5.0!

Notification from Knox City Council states we are closed until further notice.

Based on previous experience, we won't necessarily reopen as soon as lockdown is over. We will send out emails over the course of the day and will let you know as soon as we have an update.

I am sorry, I know this is really disheartening for a lot of our members. We will be back as soon as it is safe to do so.

We are all in the same storm, but not necessarily the same boat.

IMPORTANT MEMBER UPDATE

In line with the latest state government announcement, we'll be closed from tomorrow, 28 May. We’ll reopen at the direction of Knox City Council.

All families who have registered through Sticky Tickets will receive a text message shortly. This will confirm our closure, and a reminder to join our member Facebook group.

Our member group will have further information on our closure, and when the time comes, our opening process. In future, it is where we will advertise our Christmas Party and Parent social nights.
