Students in Ward House are fundraising to support the House of Welcome with the sale of keyrings, a raffle, a Futsal tournament, and a bake sale. For several years, Loreto Kirribilli has proudly maintained a relationship with House of Welcome, supporting refugees and people seeking asylum. Guided by the Loreto Sisters and supported by Mary Ward International Australia, House of Welcome's Work & Welcome program provides paid employment placements for refugees and people seeking asylum through partner organisations across Sydney. Congratulations to these student leaders for getting behind this important initiative and thank you to the Loreto Kirribilli community for your support.

It all began on the sidelines of a Loreto Kirribilli Junior School Sports Carnival in 2023, when two Italian-speaking mothers crossed paths - and instantly connected over a shared love for their heritage. From that serendipitous moment, the Italian Mammas was born.

Bound by pride, tradition, and a deep desire to pass on our culture to our daughters, our group rapidly grew. What started as casual dinner catch-ups soon blossomed into a mission: to celebrate and share the beauty of Italian culture with the entire Loreto community.

We launched our inaugural Spring Fair Italian Mammas stall in 2024, with every item - from handmade biscotti and lasagna to pasta packs and freshly sliced prosciutto rolls - lovingly prepared by our mammas, using ingredients generously donated by group members. Even our raffle prizes were sourced through heartfelt connections within the Italian community.

Now stepping into our third incredible year, we’re back with the same delicious lasagne and mouthwatering prosciutto rolls - plus our super impressive all-Italian raffle. The only difference: every ingredient for this year’s lasagne was generously donated by supporters from the school and broader Italian community, including the wonderfully generous Cuscheri and Quattroville families, Catering Industries, Superior Food Group, Fourth Village, Bonfoods, Andrews Meats and Paesanella Cheese.

We’re proud. We’re passionate. We’re Italian. And we can’t wait to bring our traditions, warmth, and joy to the Loreto Kirribilli Spring Fair once again on Sunday 30 August from 10am to 3pm.

Our latest LK Connect event was Women in Finance & Consulting, kindly hosted at PwC by Year 6 parent and PwC partner, Nicholas James. The evening was an inspiring opportunity for our students, ex-students and parents to hear from accomplished Loreto Kirribilli ex-students working in the finance industry, who shared their diverse career journeys and valuable insights into the many pathways available at PwC. As one guest reflected, “The varied experiences of the speakers - from medical science, to psychology, to mathematics - highlighted that there is no single path to success”.
Our appreciation to our panellists – Jasmine Collins (’17), Sophie Janssen (’17), Charlie York (’22) and Emily Roberts (’14). And congratulations to Year 12 student, Chloe, who has been invited to join PwC as a trainee next year.

Families, friends, staff and fellow students gathered to celebrate the achievements of our Year 12 Visual Arts students at the 2026 HSC Visual Arts Show, an inspiring showcase of the creativity, passion and skilled artmaking evident in our students' bodies of work. Thank you to Sophie Shirriff ('20), a practising ceramicist who opened the exhibition, acknowledging this significant milestone for our girls. Students presented flowers to thank the Visual Arts department for their unstinting support and encouragement.

Year 6 students explored the history of the Catholic Church in Australia, learning about key people and events through storytelling. After reflecting on the stories and their significance within our faith tradition, students created cartoon strips to illustrate the moments and messages that were most meaningful to them.

Students challenged their English teachers to a lively game of trivia on all things bookish in the leadup to the Book Parade on Friday. And we were delighted to welcome Glebe Books to the Library for a lunchtime festival of books as our librarians survey staff and students for the latest books for the shelves.

It was a fantastic day of AFL at the CGSSSA competition this week with Loreto Kirribilli’s Junior and Senior teams both winning gold in their divisions! The Seniors were undefeated all day, showing consistency and great skills and control in every match. The Juniors also delivered an outstanding performance, finishing with the highest for-and-against of the competition, securing 1st place on countback in a tight and highly competitive division. A brilliant result for both squads - well done to all players and thank you to the coaches.
