Last week, our school had the privilege of hosting Principals and Business Managers from Christian Education National - CEN schools across Australia.

As Australia’s first parent-controlled Christian school, Calvin holds a unique place in the history of Christian education in Australia. It was a privilege to welcome these leaders to our campus and share something of our history, our community and the ongoing work of Christian education at Calvin.

📝 AUTHOR ZOOM IN 📖

This week, acclaimed Australian Author, Heather Rose zoomed in to meet our Year 11 and 12 English Studio class.

Heather is originally from Tasmania and we were incredibly grateful for her time. She ran a Q&A style workshop, taking questions from our students on topics such as dialogue, pacing and getting started.
-
This workshop will assist our students as they are three weeks away from submitting their major piece of writing, the Independent Writers Project, an externally assessed folio that forms part of their major assessment for this subject.

Our Secondary students and staff brought plenty of creativity and fun to this year’s Book Week Parade!

It was fantastic to see so many students getting involved, with a great variety of costumes inspired by favourite books and characters.

What a wonderful celebration of books, imagination and creativity! Our Primary students looked absolutely amazing in their Book Week costumes.

🥚 LUNCHTIME EGG DROP 🫳🏽

Last week, as part of our Science Week activities our Year 8 students took centre stage as they tested their Egg Drop prototypes during lunchtime.

Our students printed 3D eggs and filled them with Oobleck to simulate the eggs. Then they designed structures to protect the egg during a drop.
-
Well done to our Year 8's and their amazing designs! ......... only some eggs suffered catastrophic damage, but that was all part of the fun!
