I had the pleasure of taking 18 year old Scarlett for an aerobatic flight this morning. Scarlett has just been accepted into ADFA starting next week - to complete a 3 year Aviation / Aerospace degree - then followed by pilot training. In a way this reminded me of my own journey starting in 1982 at the RAAF Academy at Point Cook followed by nothing short of great tours in a career not yet finished !
We went up and did a few stalls / an incipient spin and a bunch of aerobatics quick time ! Scarlett showed every attribute that will make her an asset to Defence- plus enjoyed being upside down, pulling G and having a bit of a fly of the mighty Nanchang.
I look forward to following Scarlett’s progress as she starts her ADF / RAAF career.
