Our Christmas STEAM class turned into a mission straight from the North Pole! 🧪❄️
The children put their thinking caps on to help Santa solve a very cool challenge — how to deliver ice-cream all the way from the North Pole without it melting! 🍦
Through hands-on experiments, hypothesis testing, and plenty of festive curiosity, our little Rainbow scientists discovered a scientifically-proven method for sub-zero ice-cream transport — powered by insulation, temperature control, and holiday ingenuity! 🌡️🔍
Santa may use magic, but here at Rainbow, the children are discovering that science makes the impossible possible too. 🌈💡

✨A Christmas Fairy Tale Comes to Life at DLC Rainbow ✨
With a sprinkle of imagination and a dash of Christmas magic, our children and educators brought a fairy tale to life, working side by side to create a life-size gingerbread installation at the entrance of our centre, inviting everyone in the Rainbow community to step into a world of wonder. 🎄✨
Made from recycled and rescued materials, this shared fairy-tale creation grew through imagination, storytelling and teamwork, filling our space with connection, joy and the true magic of Christmas. 🌈 🎄
🐾✨ Therapeutic Dogs Program at DLC Rainbow: Where Joyful Learning and Heartfelt Experiences Flourish ✨🐾
Each week, our Dogs for Life social-skills program brings so much joy, learning, and connection to our children aged 2 and above.
With the gentle guidance of Kate and the warm, therapeutic presence of Tassie, children explore confidence, empathy, communication, and emotional regulation — all through playful, meaningful interactions. Every moment is filled with purpose and heart. 🐶❤️
Watching the children light up as they learn to care, connect, and communicate is truly magical. These are the foundations of confident, successful learners… and we are so proud to give them experiences that nurture their hearts as much as their minds. 🌈✨

🌈♻️ Recycling Week Weaving Magic! ♻️🌈
Being inspired by the theme of Recycling Week, our little Rainbow Resource Rangers explored a beautiful weaving experience using rescued and donated materials. 🌿🧵
With curious hands and creative minds, the children experimented with textures, colours, and patterns, turning these rescued little treasures into stunning woven masterpieces. It was a wonderful way to celebrate creativity and show how everyday items can be given a new purpose. 💚✨
Hooray to our amazing Rangers for transforming rescued resources into something truly special! 🌟

🌺 Lest We Forget 🌺
Today at DLC Rainbow we paused to honour and remember the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country.
In the lead-up to Remembrance Day, our children engaged in thoughtful craft experiences: creating beautiful poppies and displays that helped them learn about respect, peace, and gratitude in age-appropriate ways.
Through these hands-on activities, we encouraged discussions about kindness, community, and remembering those who help keep us safe.
We are proud of the children’s creativity and the meaningful way they expressed remembrance. ❤️

🎬✨ Lights, Camera, Action at DLC Rainbow! ✨🎬
We’re beyond excited to share that DLC Rainbow was chosen by one of Melbourne’s production studios as a filming location for an upcoming independent film! ⭐️ 🎥
Over the weekend, our centre transformed into a vibrant movie set — a wonderful opportunity to showcase our beautiful environment and take part in the creative process within the film industry. It was truly inspiring to witness the collaboration and energy behind the scenes. 🎬 ✨
A heartfelt thank you to the amazing production team for choosing DLC Rainbow. We can’t wait to see the magic come to life on screen! 🤩🍿💫

🎃✨ Where do all the Pumpkins go after Halloween? Our Pre-School cohort is on a mission to find out! They’re donning their little chef hats and aprons, armed with measuring cups and cooking utensils, ready to whip up something delicious. Together with their wonderful teachers they explore the best recipes and transform those pumpkins into scrumptious pumpkin cupcakes during their special cooking class! 🍰👩🍳👨🍳
