Our children enjoyed an exciting Halloween week, exploring their imaginations through themed art and craft activities. From hand-printed ghosts and paper pumpkins to spooky spiders and friendly monsters, each child expressed their unique creativity and had lots of festive fun.

Halloween activities like these help build fine motor skills, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging in our learning community. Thank you to all our educators for supporting the children and to our families for encouraging their creativity!
We’re also excited to share that our herb garden is growing beautifully, and families are warmly welcome to visit and take home some fresh mint, spring onion, and parsley. It’s a way to extend learning and healthy living beyond the centre and into your homes.

🌏 World Environment Day at Mayfield Cheltenham 🌿

This afternoon, our children took part in a special World Environment Day activity! They painted a circular cardboard in blue and green to represent our beautiful planet, then added their handprints around it — a symbol of their promise to care for the Earth and protect the environment. 💚💙

It was a meaningful and creative experience filled with learning, connection, and a whole lot of fun! 🌱👣

📚 National Simultaneous Storytime 2025 📚

Today, our children and educators had the wonderful opportunity to join the live online event for National Simultaneous Storytime 2025! This year’s featured book was The Truck Cat — story written by Deborah Frenkel, beautifully illustrated by Danny Snell, and published by Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing.

We were thrilled to take part as the Library’s Education team read the story and shared fascinating collection items related to the book. It was an engaging and enriching experience that our children and educators thoroughly enjoyed!

🍰 Happy World Baking Day from Mayfield Cheltenham! 🧁

Today, our little chefs rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on with a fun and delicious scone-baking experience! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

From mixing ingredients to kneading dough, the children explored all five senses — feeling the texture, smelling the sweetness, watching the steps, hearing the instruction, and of course, tasting their yummy creations! 😋

It was a beautiful opportunity for our children to:
✨ Learn about different ingredients
✨ Practice fine motor skills
✨ Develop independence and teamwork
✨ Most importantly — have fun while learning!
