At Nido Moorabbin Airport, we value giving families the opportunity to support their child’s health by booking in dental check-ups. 🦷✨

We recently welcomed Tiny Bites Dental, where Asmah the dentist visited the children following their check-ups to help them learn more about their bodies and dental health. Along with her special dinosaur friend, the children explored healthy foods, practiced brushing teeth, and learned how to keep their smiles healthy and bright! 🦖😊

Our Kinder 2 children took part in a wonderful learning opportunity focusing on ANZAC Day.

Using art carton, each section was shaped into flowers. When the children came to the table, they noticed the setup and began asking questions about what they were making. We talked about ANZAC Day as a special time to remember soldiers who served our country, and how poppies are a symbol of remembrance.

The children carefully painted their poppies red, then later added black centres once the paint had dried. Afterward, we attached straws so they could be “planted” in our classroom display, creating a poppy field.

Throughout the experience, the children showed curiosity, focus, and persistence. They developed fine motor skills through painting and followed steps to complete their work. They also began to build an understanding of ANZAC Day and its meaning.

Working together, they remained engaged and took pride in contributing to a shared display, supporting their sense of belonging in the classroom.

Lest we forget. 🌺

🐣✨ What an egg-citing week at our centre ✨🐣

This week, we welcomed our very own chickens through the Henny Penny Program 🐥💛 The children have loved observing them in our Kinder 2 room, where we started with 2 baby chicks in the brooding pen and 12 eggs warming in the incubator. Now we have 9 chickens in the brooding pen and 5 eggs warming in the incubator. We’ve been learning about how hens lay eggs and how they need warmth to hatch. The children have shown so much curiosity and interest in watching the chicks and eggs throughout the day.

Each room has the opportunity to visit the Kinder 2 room and observe and learn about the chicks. Through group time and discussions, everyone had the chance to gently hold or pat a chick if they wanted to. We talked about being calm and caring, as they are real animals. It was so lovely to see how gentle and respectful the children were, with some chicks even snuggling in for a little rest.

We can’t wait to see the rest of the eggs hatch over the next few days. 🐣
