Last week, our school held its annual Showcase Concert featuring performances from our school band, elective music classes, and talented student musicians. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the incredible musical talent at KHS. A big thank you to Mr Cassis for his work with our students, and to the CAPA faculty for their support in making the event a success.

Our Year 11 and 12 Construction students attended the Say Yes to the Trades Expo, exploring exciting career pathways across a range of skilled trades. Students connected with employers and industry professionals while learning about future training and career opportunities. A fantastic experience inspiring our students to consider a future in the trades!

Last week, we proudly celebrated the achievements of our students at our Student Recognition Assemblies. Students were recognised for their academic achievement, outstanding attendance, sporting and extracurricular participation, school service, and everyday excellence. Congratulations to all our award recipients! Your hard work, commitment and positive contribution to our school community are something to be proud of. We look forward to celebrating many more student achievements throughout the year!

Our PASS and SLR students recently swapped the classroom for the snow! The PDHPE Faculty provided students with an exciting opportunity to experience a range of snow-based recreational activities, putting their learning into practice in a fun and memorable environment. A fantastic experience for everyone involved!

Throughout Term 3, Year 11 students from Inclusive Education have been developing practical workplace skills through work experience at IDF St George. From packing and preparing products to exploring food photography, students are building confidence, independence, and valuable skills for the workplace.

Our Year 12 students attended the South Sydney Business Chamber Jobs and Skills Expo, connecting with a diverse range of employers and exploring genuine employment and training opportunities. The expo provided valuable insights into career pathways and gave students the chance to consider their options beyond school. A fantastic experience supporting our students as they prepare for their next steps!

20 aspiring young leaders from Year 10 began their journey in the Empowering Youth to Inspire Change (EYTIC) program. Students participated in an all day Leadership workshop facilitated by former police officer and award-winning youth mentor, Reg Mahoney. The workshop featured meaningful discussions, interactive activities and valuable insights into what it means to be an effective and purposeful leader. We are excited to follow their journey for the rest of the year and look forward to seeing the positive difference they will make within our school and the wider community.
