What We've Been Up To: Our June 2026 Highlights! 🌟

Snapshots of the amazing learning and discoveries across our rooms at Kingsford Early Learning Centre this June!

• Koala Room (Nursery): Celebrated Nature Photography Day with a walk around our centre. Using toy cameras, our little photographers loved spotting trees, flowers, and sharing their discoveries.

• Platypus Room (Toddler): Celebrated their first harvest! After planting seeds in April and caring for them, they finally picked their fresh bok choy and coriander. Our centre's cook is now turning it into a delicious meal!

• Kangaroo Room (Younger Preschool): Loving our rostered Show & Tell! From zoo trips to favourite toy cars, the children are building amazing public speaking confidence, language skills, and patience while listening to friends.

• Kookaburra Room (Older Preschool): Took their shop corner play into the real world with an excursion to IGA Kingsford! With a $1 coin in hand, they stayed focused on their healthy mission, bought their own fresh fruit, and proudly ate it for afternoon tea.

🍿 “We are watching a show!” 🎬
Our new "Cubby Theatre" project is finally completed and officially open! What started as a simple moment of child-led play where the children used a torch to tell shadow stories and independently lined up chairs like a cinema audience — has been transformed into a permanent hub for imagination and roleplay!

❤️ Why This Matters:
When we listen to children's voices and build spaces around their ideas, they learn that their thoughts have immense value. This theatre isn't just fun—it is actively helping our preschoolers explore early STEM concepts (light and shadows), practice teamwork, and foster a lifelong love for reading.

Best of all, it invites rich, dramatic roleplay—whether they are acting out their favourite stories, selling tickets, or managing the "cinema", they are building empathy, communication, and confidence by stepping into different characters' shoes.

Kingsford Early Learning Centre was filled with the most beautiful energy as we celebrated the wonderful Mums and mother figures in our lives last week. From building steady towers in the Block Corner to designing custom jewellery together, it was a morning of pure magic.

Thank you to all our amazing families for joining us and making these memories so special. To our Mums: thank you for being our world! 🌎❤️

Easter Parade vibes at KELC! 🐰🐣🌸

Our children enjoyed face painting 🎨, an exciting egg hunt 🥚, a fun Easter parade 🎉, colourful Easter hats 🎩, and activities across the centre 🌈. It was a joyful day full of smiles, laughter, and Easter magic 💛

We had a fun-filled and meaningful week celebrating Harmony week. This special week is a wonderful opportunity for children and educators to share their cultural backgrounds and learn about the diversity within our community.

Educators at Kingsford ELC also took this opportunity to share their own cultural backgrounds with the children and families whilst embracing the message: “Everyone Belongs.” 🧡✨

What a magical way to end the year at Kingsford Early Learning Centre!

We were blessed and blown away by the turnout at our Christmas event last week. Our children, families and Educators came together to celebrate with joy, festive activities, performances and lots of excitement.
