Trick or Treat at Active OOSH Kingscliff! 🎃👻🍬🕷️

✨ Our spooky OOSHies arrived in some pretty awesome costumes, ready for a day of Halloween fun! They picked from a lolly bag station, Halloween hairdos, cool tattoos & a cupcake station that was a crowd favourite 🧁 Our trick or treat game kept everyone in suspense as they poked the cups to find out if they’d be tricked or treated 🍬 We finished with a dance party where everyone showed off their moves, bringing plenty of Halloween fun & chaos! 💃 Happy Halloween from Active OOSH Kingscliff! 🎃

💙 A day full of options keeps every kid engaged, whether they love creating, treats or busting a move.

🦋 Picking activities based on their own interests helped the children make independent choices & build a strong sense of identity.

💡 Did you know? Giving children real choices like this helps meet the National Quality Standard for Quality Area 1: Educational Program & Practice, where each child’s interests help shape the program.

Reaching New Heights at Active OOSH Kingscliff! 🧗‍♀️

✨ Every one of our OOSHies gave the climbing wall a go at today's Rock Climbing Incursion! Some felt nervous or were trying it for the first time, but they bravely pushed themselves & gave it their all, while our more experienced climbers raced each other to the top. 🏆 The adventure rolled on with whole-group games of PacMan & Octopus Tag, then the Easy Riders came out for some extra active play.

💙 Facing a new challenge, even a scary one, helps kids discover they're braver than they think.

🌱 With every hold, we watched the children's confidence & determination grow as they took healthy risks & felt proud of what they achieved, building a strong sense of wellbeing in My Time, Our Place.

💡 Did you know? Days like this also help meet the National Quality Standard for Quality Area 3: Physical Environment, where spaces & equipment invite children to take on physical challenges & learn new skills.

AO Cup Challenge Day at Active OOSH Kingscliff! 🏆

✨ Our OOSHies counted down to AO Cup Challenge Day all holidays & it did not disappoint! They tackled every challenge as a team, cheering each other on & celebrating every win along the way. The bottle flipping station buzzed all day with a constant line of eager flippers & the OOSHies roared with laughter as Mr Taj & Miss Trinity danced off their Post-it Notes in under 15 seconds! Miss Tay topped it all off with delicious mini hamburgers for lunch. Now we're crossing our fingers to bring home the win!

💙 Team challenges give kids the chance to build confidence, back their friends & work together toward a shared goal.

🦋 Encouraging teammates & sharing the fun helped the children feel a real sense of belonging, building the caring connections at the heart of My Time, Our Place: having a strong sense of identity.

💡 Did you know? Days like this also help meet the National Quality Standard for Quality Area 5: Relationships with Children, which focuses on kids collaborating, supporting each other & forming warm bonds with educators.

Footy Finals Fever at Active OOSH Kingscliff! 🏈🏆

✨ Our OOSHies dove headfirst into the Grand Final spirit today! They painted their faces in team colours, our girls tied ribbons in their hair to back their teams & everyone got creative designing footballs & boots for our design competition 🎨 Then it was out onto the field for games coached by Miss Trinity & a sizzling sausage sizzle topped off a big week 🌭

💙 Team games & creative challenges help kids build teamwork, fair play & the confidence to give something new a go.

🤝 Sharing in an event the whole community gets excited about gave the children a real sense of belonging beyond our service, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children are connected with & contribute to their world.

Mystery Box Bingo Was a Hit at Active OOSH Kingscliff! 🎁

✨ The OOSHies earned points all day for joining in, showing kindness, being good sports, working as a team & lending our educators a helping hand. They played Match the Cup, Musical Bop, group puzzles & of course Bingo. Once the points were tallied, the OOSHies came up in order from most to least points to pick their very own Mystery Box to take home, & the suspense of what was inside made it even more fun. Our Guess the Lolly Jar challenge also had everyone guessing. Congratulations to our winners, who took the jar home (with parental permission, of course!).

💙 Rewarding kindness & sportsmanship alongside effort shows kids that how they treat others counts just as much as winning.

🦋 Making choices, building confidence & having their individual contributions celebrated helped the children develop a positive sense of self & belonging within the group, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children have a strong sense of identity.

💡 Recognising positive behaviour like this also helps meet the National Quality Standard for Quality Area 5: Relationships with Children, which supports children to manage their own behaviour & respond respectfully to others.

The Balancing Man Rolls into Active OOSH Kingscliff! 🎪

✨ Steven, The Balancing Man, dropped in to wow the OOSHies with an interactive show packed with smiles, laughs & chances to jump in. Afterwards the OOSHies grabbed the props & spent a whole hour practising balancing & circus tricks of their own. They also crafted colourful clown ties & sparkly circus masks, then zoomed around on the Easy Riders in the sunshine.

💬 Our little ones loved the incursion so much they keep asking when Steven can come back!

💙 Learning a new trick takes patience, practice & a little courage, helping kids build coordination, persistence & belief in what their bodies can do.

🌱 Balancing, crafting & riding kept the children moving all day, growing their physical skills & a positive attitude to being active, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children have a strong sense of wellbeing.

💡 Days full of active play also help meet the National Quality Standard for Quality Area 2: Children's Health & Safety, which promotes physical activity as part of every child's day.

Movie Magic to Kick Off Spring Vacation Care! 🍿🎥

✨ Our OOSHies at Active OOSH Kingscliff started Spring Vacation Care with a cinema excursion to see Forgotten Island! Before heading off, they got creative in a colouring-in competition & their bright, bold designs made judging a real challenge. Our top three artists each chose a special prize from the prize box, then everyone grabbed their popcorn & settled in to enjoy the movie together.

💙 Creative challenges & group outings help children build confidence, celebrate each other's efforts & enjoy shared experiences out in the community.

🎤 Colour & design gave the children a fun way to express their ideas & take pride in their work. This supports the My Time, Our Place outcome: children are effective communicators.

💡 Did you know? Creative play like this helps us meet the National Quality Standard, Element 1.1.1, which links everyday experiences to each child's learning & development.

🚩 What a fantastic start to Spring Vacation Care, with plenty more adventures to come these holidays!

Someone can seem fine and still be struggling. A simple check‑in bridges the gap between what you see and what they feel.
