What a wonderful afternoon we had celebrating our amazing dads and father figures!

It was lovely to see so many dads come along and spend some special time with their children. We enjoyed a delicious BBQ, plenty of soft drinks, and some fun sports activities that had everyone getting involved!

A huge thank you to all the dads and father figures who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special. We hope you enjoyed the time with your children as much as we did.

A big thank you also goes to our wonderful staff for putting in the time and effort to make the afternoon such a success.

It has been a jam-packed couple of days at Kinglake Primary School, with our students learning, sharing, competing and having plenty of fun!

On Tuesday, a group of our students headed to the Kids Teaching Kids Conference at Yea Wetlands. They had an amazing day learning from other schools and environmental experts about ways we can all help protect our environment.

The students took part in some fantastic hands-on activities, including weaving flax lily leaves, making seed bombs, creating nature prints and learning how to search for water bugs and animals in nest boxes. They also enjoyed meeting some incredible animals brought along by Black Snake Productions.

Our students also had the opportunity to teach students from Kinglake West Primary School about the environmental impacts of AI, while learning about noxious weeds from them. What a wonderful opportunity to share their knowledge!

Then today, our Grade 3–6 students headed off to District Athletics. They represented KPS with enthusiasm, determination and fantastic sportsmanship. We are incredibly proud of every student who gave their best and cheered on their teammates.

A special congratulations to Sidney, who has done an outstanding job and will now head off to the Division Athletics rounds next week! We wish you all the very best, Sidney!

Congratulations also to all of our students who came away with ribbons today!

Our students certainly made the most of the sunshine at recess today! 🌞 It was wonderful to see everyone outside enjoying the beautiful weather, playing with friends and making the most of some much-needed sunshine. It really did make a difference to the overall mood around the school!

Today, our Grade 3–6 students also had a very special visit from Murrindindi Shire Mayor Damien Gallagher and Donna Slevin.

Their visit tied in beautifully with our Inquiry unit this term, giving students the opportunity to learn more about local government, the roles people have within our community and, importantly, how they can have their voices heard on issues that matter to them.

It was fantastic for our students to connect their classroom learning with real people and real community issues. What a great way to bring our Inquiry learning to life!

The Grade 3/4 students finished off Book Week in style by creating their very own bookmarks. They put lots of creativity into their designs, giving them something special to use with their next great read!

A big thank you to Chris for coming along and helping out in the library today. It was wonderful to have you visit, and the students thought it was fantastic to see you! We really appreciate your time and help.

We are also very lucky to have had a beautiful piano that was donated to our school. Some of our students love spending a little time at recess sitting down and playing the piano on their own. It is lovely to see them enjoying some quiet downtime to themselves, doing something they enjoy and having a peaceful moment away from the busyness of the school day.

And recess brought its own adventures! The students made the most of the resources around our beautiful school grounds, using fallen branches and materials from the great big pine trees to build their very own little houses and creations. Their imagination and teamwork were fantastic to see!

What a wonderful day we had at Kinglake Primary School celebrating our love of books and reading! The students (and staff!) looked absolutely amazing in their creative and colourful costumes.

There were so many fantastic characters, costumes and big smiles around the school today — it was certainly a day to remember!

Our Grade 5/6 students had a great Auslan session today, learning and practising their signs while developing their communication skills. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and supporting one another.

The Grade 3–6 students came together for a couple of fun rounds of kickball! ⚽️ There was plenty of teamwork, laughter and friendly competition as everyone enjoyed getting active together.

Our Grade 5/6 students have been busy in Enquiry today, getting hands-on while learning about Australia’s three levels of government – Federal, State and Local Government.
The students created these fantastic models to show their understanding of the different roles and responsibilities of each level of government. They explored how decisions are made and how each level helps support our communities.
Also students had a fantastic music lesson with Sam today! They had lots of fun learning and exploring music.
The Foundation students had a fantastic time exploring subtraction in maths today. They were busy learning how to take away, count back!
