That’s a wrap on Interschool Sport for our Year 5/6 students! Today marked our final game of the Interschool Sport season, and what a fantastic few weeks it has been!
Week after week, our students have not only had plenty of fun competing against other schools, but have also developed their skills, learnt new sports, worked as a team and discovered the importance of encouragement, perseverance and good sportsmanship. We couldn’t be prouder of the way our students have represented our school. For some teams, the season continues, with finals ahead! We wish them the very best and can’t wait to see how they go! Well done, Year 5/6! What a great season! 👏

The 5/6s finished their unit on Time by creating a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout! Students were tasked with creating a workout that included multiple exercises and rest time, ensuring they kept track of the elapsed time ⏱️

They had a great time putting their friends through their paces! 😮‍💨

Rapping our way to healthy choices!
Our Year 5/6 students had a whole lot of fun in their Wellbeing lesson, learning about the importance of eating the colours of the rainbow! From red to purple, each colour provides different nutrients that help our bodies stay healthy, strong and energised. And what better way to learn about healthy eating than by putting it to a rap! Learning, moving, laughing and making healthy choices. What a fun way to learn!

What an amazing job by a group of our Year 3/4 students at Yea Wetlands on Tuesday! 👏

Throughout Terms 2 and 3, this group has been busy learning about invasive weeds in our local area, the impact they have on our native plants and animals, and what we can do to help protect our environment.
They turned all that learning into their very own game show, “War of the Weeds”, which they presented to students from other local schools as part of the Kids Teaching Kids initiative!

The students worked incredibly hard in the lead up, preparing their information, costumes, props and presentation and absolutely nailed it on the day! We were so proud of their confidence, teamwork and enthusiasm.

A huge thank you to Zanni from the The Upper Goulburn Landcare Network for leading this fantastic initiative and giving students from across our local shires the opportunity to come together, teach each other and share important environmental messages. 🌏
