For the past 42 years, it has been my absolute pleasure to start and encourage hundreds of bullriders through bullriding schools. We have made lifelong friendships, and it has been a joy to see some go on to be state and Australian champions in the rodeo arena. We’ve had literally thousands of buck-outs here at home, made possible by so many of you generously giving of your time to work the back yards, pull gates, bullfight, video rides, help with meals, and more. Thank you for being along for the ride.
The time has come for us to make some life changes, and there will be no further bullriding schools here at home.
I want to continue to be a part of your lives and plan to open up individual and small group lessons on the bucking machines, and I will continue to instruct as requested at away schools. We look forward to being able to make it to more rodeos and see your progress and have more time to relax with you and celebrate your accomplishments.
We have begun planning a gathering/reunion for past students and others involved in the schools, for April 2025 here at the ranch. We hope to see many of you, laugh and tell lots of stories. More details will follow!
Even more than learning to ride bulls and broncs, I hope my students have learned that they are able to overcome hard things and take those life lessons with them into every other endeavour.

“Vision is when frustration with what is, creates passion for what could be.”
I heard this quote on a podcast the other day, and man, is that a powerful statement.
When we don’t know where we are headed, we tend to lack boundaries and discipline. We run ourselves into the ground, convincing ourselves that if we work harder, we’ll stumble upon success.
But, here’s the thing—all that work means nothing if we don’t have a clear vision of where that hard work is leading us.
When we know where we’re headed, it gives our pain a purpose. It gives our present circumstances meaning. And, it fuels our discipline and determination to make what ‘could be’ a reality.
Having a clear vision means identifying where we want to go and having a plan for how to get there.
