Maybe you’re not looking for another “activity” for your little one…

Maybe you just need somewhere to go…💛

A reason to get out of the house.
Something you can enjoy together.
A place where nobody minds if your toddler wanders off halfway through a song 🤪
Or your baby spends most of the class simply watching everything happening around them.

That counts too 🥰

Little Music Makers is about music, movement, play, learning and connection… without the pressure.

We have a few spaces available in our Tuesday & Wednesday classes in Kincumber, particularly our 11:15am Babies classes 👶🏼🎶

💛 The Littlest Learners 💛

One of the greatest privileges of what I get to do is watching these little ones grow. Week by week they begin recognising songs, anticipating routines, engaging with the instruments and responding with growing confidence. It’s incredible what can happen in just one term.

They’re never “just babies.” They’re curious, capable little people, learning more than we often give them credit for…

And the beautiful thing is, while they’re busy learning, you’re making memories you’ll treasure forever...💛

Grandparents, this one’s for you…💛

One of the sweetest parts of Little Music Makers is watching generations connect through music…🥹

Whether you’re caring for your grandchild each week or simply enjoying a special morning together, our classes are a beautiful place to slow down, sing, dance, laugh and make memories that will last a lifetime 🎶💛

These little ones may not remember every song we sing, but they’ll remember how they felt… loved, safe, encouraged and surrounded by people who delighted in spending time with them 🫧

If you’re looking for something special to do together each week, we’d absolutely love to welcome you into our Little Music Makers family…🎶🥰

Have you been using the word “shy” to describe your little one? 💛

I shared something to my stories the other day and the response from you guys was so overwhelming that I felt it deserved a permanent spot on the grid…

I shared that I’ve never really liked the word “shy” for children.

People used to say it about my Zoey and I would gently, and intentionally, correct them in front of her…

“Ahh, she’s not shy… she just needs a moment to warm up” I’d say ☺️

Because with her cousins she wasn’t shy.
At home she wasn’t shy.
And once she felt safe and comfortable, her personality absolutely shone ✨

And I think sometimes children can internalise those labels and begin walking into situations already believing: “I’m shy.”

When really… they may simply need time.

Time to observe.
Time to feel safe.
Time to connect.

I believe the language we use around our little ones matters so much 💛

Because eventually, so much of what we say to them, and about them, can become part of their inner voice.

Our words can encourage and strengthen… but they can also quietly limit, discourage or define 🥹

So I always want to be intentional with mine… speaking life, confidence and truth over the little hearts entrusted to me 🫶🏼✨

Does your child struggle when something fun comes to an end? 💛🥹

One thing people sometimes notice in my classes is that I don’t rush to distract children when they become upset about giving the instrument’s or props back.

And truthfully? That’s intentional ✨

From the beginning, I try to frame the props as something we are borrowing for a moment… “Would you like a turn with my sticks?” 🎶 Because part of childhood is learning that enjoyable things don’t last forever… and that we are still safe and okay when they end.

That’s also why I sing our pack away song rather than abruptly asking children to hand things back. Little ones respond so beautifully to melody, rhythm and predictability ✨

I’ll often give them little choices too… “Would you like to put them in the bucket or I can do it?” 🥹 Because even small choices can help children feel safe, capable and involved in the transition, while still gently guiding them toward the same outcome 💛

I also tend to hand props out and collect them in the same order each week, usually left to right. Over time, the children become familiar with the routine and begin confidently bringing them back themselves ✨

For some little ones, especially those who have struggled with transitions before, I’ll make a really big deal of those first moments… “Thank you so much!!” 🥰👏🏼 And then over time, that encouragement gently becomes a positive expectation.

And when those big feelings do come, I usually just acknowledge them softly… “Yeah, I know… it’s hard to give them back when you were having so much fun” 💛

Because learning to move through little moments of disappointment in a safe and supported environment is such an important part of emotional development.

We’re not just teaching music here 🥹🎶
