Oscar proudly represented Kinchela Public School at the recent Macleay Valley Chess Competition.

Across an incredible 305 games involving 62 students, Kinchela Public School came away as Overall School Winner, tying for first place with Eungai Public School!

On an individual level, Oscar achieved an outstanding Second Place in Stage 2👏👏

What a fantastic achievement, Oscar! We are so proud of your hard work, sportsmanship and chess skills.

COMMUNITY NEWS:

Join us for the opening of Slow Signals, an immersive BioArt exhibition by artist and biologist Pip Beale at Nulla Nulla Regional Gallery.

Blending art, biology and technology, Slow Signals explores new ways of seeing, communicating and connecting with the living world. Instead of digital pixels, Pip's artworks are created using living algae, transforming microscopic cells into evolving images that change over time.

Drawing on both scientific knowledge and creative practice, the exhibition invites visitors to consider the subtle relationships between living organisms, technology and the environment. A major feature of the exhibition is a unique living artwork that uses light and algae to create images that continue to grow and transform throughout the exhibition.

EXHIBITION OPENING - FRIDAY 21 AUGUST 6pm
REFRESHMENTS ON ARRIVAL

Opening Night offers a rare opportunity to meet the artist, learn about the fascinating science behind the work and gain insight into the creative process that brings these living artworks to life. Stay for the Artist Talk at 6:30pm, where Pip will share her journey as both a biologist and artist and discuss the ideas behind this innovative exhibition.

We are very proud of Will and Oscar, who represented our school at the Lower North Coast (LNC) Athletics Carnival held at Port Macquarie last Friday, 14 August.

What an achievement for both boys to compete at this level!

Oscar competed in the 8 Years Boys 100m Sprint, while Will achieved an outstanding equal 2nd place in the Senior Boys High Jump.

Will now progresses to the North Coast Athletics Carnival in September. We wish him all the very best as he takes on this next level of competition.

Congratulations, Will and Oscar! We are incredibly proud of you both and your wonderful achievements.
