Some of our Old Collegians bumped into each other at the MCG on Friday night at the Past Players and Old Acquaintance function for the Melbourne v Geelong game. It turned into a wonderful mini‑reunion full of smiles and shared memories.

Always great to see our Old Collegians reconnecting, no matter where they are!

A special moment at our First XVIII match on the final day of Term 2, where Mr Ray Carroll was presented with a beautiful photo memory book from his November Tribute Dinner. The book was gifted to Mr Carroll by Michael McMaster and Kate Boulton on behalf of the Assumption College Kilmore Old Collegians Association (ACKOCA), honouring his extraordinary legacy and lifelong contribution to our College community.

The ACKOCA have also kindly donated a copy of the tribute book to the Assumption College Library, where it will be treasured as part of our 133‑year history. Our Library staff were delighted to receive this special keepsake and add it to our collection.

Copies of the Tribute Dinner photo book are available for purchase through the ACKOCA. For further details and how to order, please contact Kate Boulton, Community Engagement & Old Collegians at Assumption College.

A heartfelt thank you to ACKOCA for preserving and sharing these memories that mean so much to our community.

Congratulations to Dion Prestia (Class of 2010)

This weekend, Dion celebrates an incredible milestone, 250 AFL games across his career with both the Gold Coast Suns and the Richmond Football Club.

From his early days at Assumption to becoming a triple premiership Tiger and one of the competition’s most respected midfielders, Dion continues to make our community proud.

We wish him all the very best for his 250th game and the remaining season ahead.

Last Friday evening, our Principal, Mr Paul Finneran, Director of Boarding, Ms Danniella Larman‑Yalda, and Community Engagement Officer, Ms Kate Boulton, travelled to beautiful King Island to meet with families and share what boarding life at Assumption College is all about.

It was such a joy to connect with new families, catch up with current parents, and even reunite with some of our wonderful Old Collegians.

A special thanks to our Old Collegian, Maria Cleve, for her support in helping organise the evening at The Hub in King Island.

Thank you to the King Island community for the warm welcome, we loved showcasing the College and strengthening the connections that make our boarding community so special.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting Sam Crimmins (Class of 1991) and his son Oscar for a tour while they were travelling through Kilmore.

Sam spoke fondly about his days at Assumption, from sneaking out of the theatre during movie time, to the lasting impact of Br Doug, a Marist Brother and teacher who played a major role in shaping student life at the time.

These stories remind us how deeply our Old Collegians remain connected to the College.

A heartfelt thank you to Old Collegian Sab Di Battista (1960–1966) for his generous donation of two wonderful books in support of our Men’s Mental Health Sports Round.

Pictured here with our Deputy Principal - Students, Mr. Stephen Bellis, Sab’s contribution will help encourage important and meaningful conversations around men’s mental health in our community.

Sab’s ongoing connection to Assumption College and his commitment to supporting the wellbeing of our young people is greatly appreciated.

𝐈𝐓’𝐒 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐓… 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday 13 June for another fantastic ACKOCA Our Shout gathering. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces return, and just as special to welcome some new ones, including the fabulous ladies from the Class of 1989 who found us by surprise and lit up the room with their energy.

The night was full of stories, laughter, and those classic Assumption connections that span generations.

A special shout‑out to two very special Old Collegians who bookended our community beautifully:

✨ Bob Ryan, our eldest Old Collegian on the night from Class of 1947
✨ Charlie Charmichael, Class of 2025, our youngest Old Collegian in the room

Moments like these remind us why the Assumption community is something truly unique, it continues, it connects, and it carries on through every generation.

Thank you for making the night one to remember. Until next time…

Earlier this week, we came together as a school community to celebrate the Feast of Saint Marcellin Champagnat.

As part of this special occasion, we proudly hosted our inaugural Generational Pin Celebration. We were honoured to welcome 34 families spanning second, third, and fourth generations, who joined us for Mass before gathering for a special luncheon.

During the event, each Old Collegian within the family was presented with a Generational Pin, recognising their enduring connection to the College and the legacy they continue to uphold. Their presence was a powerful reminder of our shared story and the lasting impact of a Marist education across generations.

This inaugural celebration marks the beginning of a cherished tradition, which will continue annually as we welcome each new students and recognise the growing number of generational families within our College.

May the example of Saint Marcellin Champagnat continue to inspire our families and community to live with faith, generosity, and a deep commitment to one another.
