INTRODUCTION TO ENTOMOLOGY COURSE.

Next Course Commencing October 19th 2026.

This fundamental 4 week course will introduce you to the study of insects (Entomology) and will give the student a valuable understanding of the subjects of insect evolution and classification (Week 1), insect ecology (Week 2), collection methods (Week 3) and preparing and preserving an insect collection to a stage where it can be presented for scientific study (Week 4).

Class Sessions will be delivered both at the National Institute of Entomology or On Line via ZOOM Conferencing Software Wednesday evenings between 7:15-9:00Pm.

The National Institute of Entomology Kilmore is looking for special environmentally minded individuals interested in natural history, entomology and education to both assist in what we do as well as serving on the Institute’s newly formed Funding Grants Committee.
This important Committee will be tasked with applying for suitable Funding Grants in order to assist the Institution, its Students and Research goals.
Serving committee members will also receive free memberships and other benefits.

Greetings Mums and Dads. If your child is excited about insects, have we got some exciting news for you. The National Institute of Entomology will be running the National Bug Club both On-Line and In-House every Tuesday afternoon between 5:30 and 6:00 pm during school terms at the Institute (16 Sydney Street, Kilmore.)
