7 years of French learning. One incredible milestone.

FANS is proud to announce that 100% of our Year 6 bilingual program students have registered to sit the DELF Prim’ exam on Wednesday 28 October at KHPS!

The DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) is an official French Ministry of Education diploma that certifies a student’s French language level, that is valid for life and recognised worldwide.

For our Year 6 students, the exam represents the culmination of seven years of learning and developing their French through the FANS bilingual program at Killarney Heights Public School. It is an opportunity to certify their ability to use French confidently across listening, reading, writing and speaking.

The exams will be administered and assessed at KHPS by examiners from Alliance Française de Sydney, with preparation well underway throughout Term 3.

This week, students are also taking part in individual mock oral exams during recess, receiving personalised feedback and practising in conditions close to the real exam.

A huge merci to our dedicated teaching team for supporting our students every step of the way.

Bravo Year 6 — we are so proud of you! Bon courage!

A new chapter for FANS — General Manager opportunity now open

After seven years as General Manager of FANS, Anne Bentley is stepping down from her role, leaving behind a wonderful legacy.

We would like to sincerely thank Anne for her passion, dedication, leadership and incredible contribution to the growth of FANS and the French bilingual program at Killarney Heights Public School. Over seven years, she has helped shape and strengthen our organisation, our community and the opportunities we provide to hundreds of bilingual students and their families.

Now, we’re looking for the person who will lead FANS into its next chapter.

The FANS General Manager role is now open for applications.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a well-established, not-for-profit organisation and play a central role in the continued development of our French-English bilingual program and wider community.

We’re looking for an experienced, collaborative and passionate leader who is comfortable working across strategy, people, operations and community engagement, and who wants to make a meaningful difference through education.

The full-time role is onsite in Killarney Heights (Sydney's Northern Beaches) and requires fluency in French and English.

Could this be you, or someone in your network?

Applications are now open.

Today, we celebrate all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, fathers-in-law, father figures and dads-at-heart who play such an important role in raising and supporting our children.

Being a dad is about so much more than the big moments. It’s the everyday encouragement, the patience, the laughter, the listening, the school runs, the homework help, the weekend adventures, the endless snacks — and being there through all the ups and downs of growing up.

Raising children is a team effort, and dads and father figures are an essential part of our vibrant community. Whether you’re volunteering at the French Market, coaching a sport, teaching a new skill, showing support, and simply being there for your children, your contribution matters.

Thank you for everything you do for your families and for the next generation.

Happy Father’s Day!

Celebrating Book Week at KHPS!

What better way to celebrate the magic of books than by bringing our favourite characters to life?

This Book Week, our wonderful teachers dressed up by Stage, with each team taking inspiration from much-loved children’s books and series — from Gangster Granny and Dr Seuss, to The Very Hungry Caterpillar, La Reine des Bisous and more!

And the love of reading doesn’t stop at Book Week. This Term, our Francophone students are also taking part in Rallye Lecture, a reading challenge designed to encourage children to read more, and a wider variety of books, in French at home.

A huge bravo to our teachers for these fabulous and fun costumes, and for helping foster a lifelong love of reading in our students — in both French and English!

Because every great adventure can begin with a book.
