🚨 Join the OHA Council! Do you want to shape the future of the OHA?

🌐 Apply: oha.org.au/join-the-oha-council
📅 Deadline: 5.00pm, Thursday 11 June

Hear from two current Councillors:

💬 William McCue (OH 2024)
Since joining the OHA council a year ago, I’ve been able to learn and grow not just in my capabilities as a council member, whether that be connecting with various alumni, brainstorming future plans and ideas, or contributing to team decisions, but I have also been able to feel what being in a successful business looks like.

Being part of meetings and having separate or joint portfolios to work on have allowed me to understand the behind-the-scenes work that makes the OHA the community it is today. This position is extremely gratifying to me as I can connect with people that I might not have ever been able to after graduating.

This is of huge importance to me because since graduating from the Rendall campus in Darwin and then moving to Canberra, I don’t always have the opportunity to see the people who helped me so much, but this council helps break that barrier for me. However, the best part about being a council member is knowing that the work I do will positively affect not only current OHA members, but also the future Haileybury alumni who need the support and community this organisation provides.

💬 Shankar Pillai (OH 2006)
Being a member of the OHA Council has been a rewarding and enriching experience. As a council member, I’ve had the opportunity to stay connected with fellow Haileyburians, support networking initiatives, and help work towards building a stronger bridge between past students. It’s been fulfilling to contribute to events and projects that help give back while also looking ahead to the future. Through this role, I’ve deepened my sense of community and developed lasting relationships with alumni across generations.
