We are sending our thoughts and tap love to all those in Melbourne who are back in lockdown. Even though this comes as a small setback, we are still moving forward with the festival from Sept 26 - Oct 3. The classes and small events will run, it may be in a new location, stay tuned for exciting update (you can sign up to our mailing list via our website www.atdf.com.au). It has been confirmed that the festival gala will be postponed to 2021.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
If you are keen to attend but unsure currently due to restrictions, expressions of interest to place a hold on your spot have opened via our registration page- there is no payment required to submit. We will then keep you informed on border updates and also plans for running festival classes in your city during the festival week and confirm with you on August 31.

2020 FESTIVAL INTENTIONS
We wanted to share the committee’s intentions behind keeping the festival running in 2020 and reassure you we are aware of the current climate and that we are taking all precautions and implementing plans that will have your health & safety at the forefront of our planning.

- The arts industry and the tap faculty were hit hard during 2020 and as a representative body for the art form in Australia, we feel it is as important as ever to support and provide an income for the artists where we can, via our festival, and also continue to promote and share all Tap events and shows that are commencing again after many forced cancellations.

- To further support artists, we have set up a donation stream on our registration page for patrons of the arts who can afford any amount to contribute to our festival faculty fund that will be distributed amongst the artists at the end of the festival.

- Furthermore, with the year that has been of online video classes and electronic catch ups, bringing the community together to connect, share and support each other as soon as we can is imperative.

BEHIND THE SCENES
The Festival committee runs primarily on a volunteer basis and this year some sponsorship funding has been placed on hold due to the current climate, so we are minimising our own costs by choice to be able to continue to support the industry.

The festival is about ensuring it is accessible to all and to continue the education of the art form to build and create more opportunities for Tap dancers throughout Australia & NZ.

REGISTRATIONS
We have extended the early bird prices and do require a certain number of registrations to ensure the festival can run, we would encourage you to register if you are intending to join us and if in the unlikely circumstance we have to cancel the entire event or travel circumstances change, you will be eligible to a full refund. This is going to be a big community effort to create an unforgettable week of Tap with you all!
