Girls from Oz We currently operate in Halls Creek (WA), Bidyadanga (WA), Lockhart River, (QLD) and Kowanyama (QLD).

Girls from Oz (g-oz) is a not-for-profit organisation providing high-quality performing arts education to improve the academic and employment pathways and overall wellbeing of girls in remote Australia. Girls from Oz (g-oz) is an Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing the overall wellbeing of girls living in remote Australia by contributing to the expansion of their educatio

n and employment pathways. Our tailored and inclusive programs employ the engagement model of the Australian School of Performing Arts, our principal partner, and utilise performing arts education as an early intervention tool to engage individuals in their schooling, assisting in the expansion of their confidence, skillset, health and horizons on their pathway to success. g-oz is committed to breaking the cycle of disadvantage experienced by young Australians living remotely in collaboration with them and their communities, offering unique and transformative opportunities that would have otherwise remained inaccessible. We are a small, but mighty value-driven organisation with courageous aspirations to continue to grow our impact as we believe that every Australian child deserves the opportunity to flourish and thrive in childhood and beyond. Since 2009 we have engaged over 4000 girls who have reaped the benefits of our work. Check out the Bidgy Year 5/6 girls with their super strong Mary Poppins shapes! They have worked really hard this week learning such a wordy song with tricky movement. We can’t wait to see some of these girls on stage in Perth later this year with their Australian Girls Choir sisters. They even got a sneak peek of some archival footage to get them excited!

g-oz is one of three organisations nominated for this month's Grill'd Local Matters fundraising initiative!

If you are one of our Melbourne-based supporters, head on down to Grill'd Fairfield to grab a bite and vote for g-oz 🍔

HOW TO VOTE:
🪙 With every meal purchased, you will receive a voting token. Simply pop it into the g-oz jar located at the front of the store to have your vote counted!
🫙The jar with the most tokens at the end of September will receive a donation of $300 from Grill'd

Paalam 2026 is here!

Presented by Sivaganga Sahathevan OAM and AGC Alumni members Karthiga and Kasthuri Sahathevan in support of Girls from Oz.

Marking a historic milestone, this year’s concert, titled ‘Idhuvum Kadandhu Pogum’ (Passing Clouds), will see the production expand interstate for the first time with events held in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. Each show will feature travelling local and international artists, as well as senior choristers from the Australian Girls Choir and students from local classical Bharatanatyam schools.
