Activities include feeding and petting a variety of farm animals while learning about their care and welfare. In the garden, visitors can indulge digging, planting, weeding, harvesting, cooking and sampling seasonal fruit and vegetables. They can learn survival and life skills include learning basic first aid, how to light a fire without matches, make a basic pizza oven, cook their own food, make and/or mend clothes (bring those torn, ripped or ragged jeans) and have fun with a wide range of arts and crafts including using basic tools, whittling and role playing, with plenty of soil worship, loose parts and rough and tumble fun in between.

To arrange a day and time that suits you, PM me. For me, the earlier in the day the better; any time from 7am; there are animals to feed, it’s cooler, and everyone is fresh and keen to learn about and experience sustainability, nature, survival, and life skills - all through play! The kids will be able to make their own pizza if they want to (I provide the ingredients.) Please feel free to bring your own picnic to compliment pizzas. Don’t forget chairs, plenty of water and snacks.

Compulsory protective clothing is as follows: long sleeves, long loose pants and farm boots or covered shoes. Some children may like to wear gloves. Don’t forget your hat, sunscreen, lippy and maybe a change of clothing as you and the kids may get down and dirty and of course - wet!
Although I haven’t seen any snakes since last season, if you follow Harrisons Snake Catching page, there are plenty around.

Nana Bear’s Garden Farm has been voted the most dangerous, adventurous, and magical theme park in the whole of Kerry!
Dangers include the possibility of snake bites, animals that can peck, bite, kick, and head butt… Unfenced bodies of water, Crocs in that said water, open fires… What about hammers, nails, saws etc, sharp bits, old bits… (You can take home what you build)
Adventures to be had in the Loose Parts Pen or try out the Army style Concourse? And oh, yes… Not to mention the long drop toilet. - I said… ”Don’t mention the long drop toilet!”
As for magical, what’s NOT magical about a pig that will happily sit on command? And on the subject of love- what’s not to love about cuddling a chook? Or simply smelling the roses (cancel that-the sheep ate them…) while you enjoy the views over towards the Gold Coast Hinterland and down to NSW?

Our relatives include Yzzy a gentle giant Friesian mare, who loves treats and brushes, three magical donkeys (Samir, Romany and Jesse) who love their food, the very cuddly sheep (Baa Baa and Dolly) who just like to rest like seals on a rocky beach… Lovers of tummy rubs and back scratches pigs (Galaxy and Wilber or Wilmer depending on how she feels on the day), mostly cuddly chooks (Prince Mike and his fluffy girls) and ball-retrieving and water loving dogs (Mr P. Bear, Diesel etc). They are all looking forward to meeting you and your brood. While I have animal feed here, you are welcome to bring some fruit and veggies (or little bread) to share with them.

September 2024 School Holidays
Hi Everyone,
Want somewhere different to go to, something else to do, in the holidays? $10 per child.
Nana Bear’s Garden Farm is still a mess but welcomes you and your brood anyway! We’re taking bookings for visits during the school holidays 14th-29th September 2024. PM me to book.
Nana Bear's Garden Farm and Outdoor Education Centre is located Kerry (10 minutes drive south of Beaudesert.) Those aged 2-102 have the opportunity to improve their life skills and extend their knowledge by learning through play,- to grow their own food, understand small scale farming and how to live a more sustainable life, all while having fun. PM me to book.

Entry fee is a donation around $10 per child or what you can afford, to help pay for animal feed and the occasional Vet bill.
