When Inspiration comes from the simplest things, conversations about travel, culture, shared memories, and for me especially… food.

This cold Aussie winter morning, I was thinking of making hot noodle soup for brunch, something different from the regular The HILLS GROVE, Kenthurst menu. Using cherry tomatoes, spinach, lime, ginger, and onion from our garden, the kitchen slowly filled with familiar aromas and a quiet sense of comfort.

While reflecting on beautiful travel stories and experiences, my mind drifted back to the river filled landscapes stretching from the Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal. The flowing rivers, changing seasons, monsoon rains, and the abundance of fish, vegetables, and village life shaped not only one spacific cuisine, but also our emotions, memories, and sense of belonging.

Maybe that is why certain flavours feel so deeply familiar, no matter how far away from home we are.

Then something even more beautiful happened. My staff, who I truly consider family, surprised me with their warmth and kindness. These small gestures are often the things that stay in our hearts the longest.

What you see in these photos is more than just food. It is a mix of nature, winter mornings, mountain rivers, memory, and the warmth of a home kitchen. The taste reminded me of my mother’s cooking… simple, comforting, and full of love🤍.

Sometimes flavour, a smell, or a warm bowl of soup quietly reminds us who we are and where our roots belong.

Living in Australia has taught me that home is not always one single place. Sometimes it lives inside flavours, seasons, memories, and the people gathered around your table.
