🎬 JULY WORKSHOP SERIES

Calling all young filmmakers!

This July, our Juniors Filmmaking Workshops (Grades 3–6) will challenge students to create an original short film inspired by the 2026 Trop Jr Signature Item: Map.

Working in teams, students will develop ideas, write, direct, perform and film their own stories while learning the fundamentals of visual storytelling and filmmaking.

We’re thrilled to welcome two incredible filmmakers to lead the workshops:

🎥 Harvey Zielinski — award-winning actor, writer and director, winner of the Casting Guild of Australia’s Rising Star Award, and creator of the upcoming feature film Sweet Milk Lake.

🎥 Aarushi Chowdhury — award-winning filmmaker whose work has screened at festivals including SXSW Sydney and MIFF, and was named one of the Australian Women in Film Awards’ “One to Watch” filmmakers.

Students will work towards creating a film that may be submitted to Trop Jr while developing storytelling, filmmaking and collaboration skills in a fun, supportive studio environment.

First up: Casting intensive with

We’re so excited to have Casting Director Amy Mete in the studio for a two-day intensive exploring audition technique, self-tapes and the casting process from the other side of the table.

Receive direct feedback, refine your performance and gain insight into what casting directors are looking for.

Age: Grades 7-12

Something a little different is coming to the studio.

This June, outside of our usual youth programming, we’re opening the studio up for adults with a brand-new 4-week Photography Program led by award winning photographer

Designed for beginners through to passionate hobbyists, this experience is all about learning how to use your camera with greater confidence, creativity and intention.
