At the LOCCAL Annual General Meeting 2026 we will be electing Committee Members to the three positions of President, Treasurer and Secretary. We are also asking for members to take on the position of General Committee Member.

Members can nominate to be on the committee ahead of the AGM (in writing to [email protected]) or at the AGM. The member must be at least 18 years of age and ordinarily reside in Australia to nominate. Another member must support their nomination.

Please consider getting involved. One tiny compost microbe alone can't convert scraps into soil, but a community of critters working together can create garden gold! Many hands make light work. Loccal needs you.

Nominate to be part of the Committee!

General Committee Members liaise with LOCCAL members and the public and promote LOCCAL.

General Committee Members:
• attract new members to the association and connect existing members;
• help with planning and implementing social and educational activities and events;
• record and communicate activities LOCCAL are involved in through newsletters, webpage and social media;
• coordinate with outside organisations to facilitate events;
• facilitate information sharing and promote LOCCAL.

All Loccal members are welcome to attend Member Meetings, held online after Committee Meetings at 8:00pm NSW/VIC/QLD, 7:30pm SA, 4:30pm WA on the first Monday of each month.

At Member Meetings, members may hear from a guest speaker, present ideas and updates, plan events, newsletters, webpage and social media content, and discuss working group projects.

Members may give input on voting matters at Member Meetings but cannot vote or attend Committee Meetings. You must be elected to a General Committee position to vote and attend Committee Meetings. Members may also volunteer to do Member Meeting Minutes, Agendas and Chairing, newsletters and take part in Working Groups.
