Bluesat is UNSW’s space engineering and interest society. Applications forms in the link below!

Bluesat is one of UNSW's oldest project societies and has been the center of space engineering for students since 1997. We have designed and developed dozens of projects from start to finish, including (but not limited to) satellites, high-altitude weather balloons, rovers, drones, astronautical software packages and more. A significant majority of our events are open to all UNSW students. This in

We were delighted to co-host Foot in the Door, a great industry night featuring networking and an engaging panel. Students gained valuable insights into their professional futures from representatives of companies including Blackbird, Qantas , Sorensen Engineering , Engineers Australia , Breaker, Atlassian , Dematic, Honeywell Aerospace , Mott MacDonald and AI Camp.

We look forward to more opportunities to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Thank you also to our co-hosts createunsw , Women In Engineering Society , UNSW Skylabs , Robogals UNSW , UNSW Redback Racing and UNSW Rocketry.

🎉Yesterday we held our all hands meeting to start of term 2‼️🎉

We welcomed new Bluesat members (we have a whopping 133 now 😱) and brought the whole team together to see what other projects have been working on and plan for our bright future🚀.

We’re excited to be co-hosting with Ventures to bring together the UNSW community over a fireside chat on building deeptech startups!

The gap between project societies and startups is not as large as it seems, and it’s closing. We’re excited to show you how and why that is, through the lens of Billy Jeremijenko, co-founder of Aquila, who started his journey fresh out of university.

Hosted at UNSW’s Michael Crouch Innovation Centre on July 1st, come and meet other startup-curious students, technical builders across the Sydney ecosystem, or potentially your next collaborator.

Proud to also partner with Atomcraft and UNSW Founders 💛

The first Groundstation pass night was so nice we had to do it twice🔥📡

Our first Groundstation pass night was a huge success, receiving data from the satellite GK-24 and capturing a stunning image of the Earth 🌍 💫

Come join our upcoming Groundstation pass night‼️‼️
Date: 25th of June, Week 4 Friday
Location: To be decided
We’re starting the night off with a bbq 🍗 🍖
Then we’re moving onto an informative session with the Bluesat satellite members
and lastly we will observe a satellite pass 🛰️ by using an SDR to process a signal, producing images seen from above.

Bluesat’s Groundstation pass night was a roaring success! We successfully received data from the satellite GK-2A, allowing us to process the amazing images of Earth seen in our recent past night post- make sure you check it out!
