This morning, we gathered as a College community to launch ๐™ ๐™ ๐™Š๐™ ? ๐™’๐™š๐™š๐™ , a reminder of the importance of checking in with one another, listening with care and helping create a culture where everyone feels supported and connected.

Thank you to all the fathers and father figures who joined us this morning for our Coffee and Muffin Morning. It was a wonderful way to start the day together as a community.
A huge thank you to our dedicated staff and Year 12 students who arrived early to help prepare and make the morning such a success. Special thanks also to Mrs Archibald and our Year 10 volunteers for their fantastic barista skills.

Last week, some of our Year 10 students joined their peers from Rostrevor College for a rewarding Service Learning experience centred on connection, compassion and community.
Students began the day at Bene Aged Care Italian Village in St Agnes, where they spent time engaging with residents through a range of shared activities and conversations. These meaningful interactions helped students gain a deeper appreciation for the experiences and stories of older members of our community, while fostering empathy, respect and understanding.
Following the visit, students returned to Mary MacKillop College to reflect on their experiences before working together to bake cookies for donation to the Vinnies SA Men's Shelter at Whitmore Square. Through both experiences, students witnessed the many ways service can make a difference, whether through offering companionship, listening to others or providing practical support to those in need.
Inspired by the legacies of St Mary MacKillop and Blessed Edmund Rice, who dedicated their lives to serving others with compassion, humility and dignity, students were encouraged to reflect on their own capacity to make a positive impact through acts of kindness, generosity and connection.

Throughout the day, students reflected on the work of Catholic Mission and the ways it supports individuals and communities experiencing disadvantage, both locally and globally. They also considered how they can make a meaningful difference through this year's Socktober fundraising initiative.

Earlier this term we celebrated National Science Week, with the College buzzing with curiosity, creativity and discovery, inspired by this year's theme, ๐’๐ž๐ž๐๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐’๐œ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž: ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Š๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ž๐๐ ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐€๐ฅ๐ฅ.
From classifying organisms in nature and investigating the human body, to exploring circuits, atomic spectra, chemistry experiments and emerging STEM technologies, students across all year levels embraced hands-on opportunities to learn, question and investigate.
Highlights included the interactive Time for Tech livestream, the Science Mystery Challenge, the homeroom Science Quiz Competition, STEAM Club seed germination investigations and spectacular science demonstrations and rocket launches that brought the week to an exciting close.
National Science Week was a wonderful reminder that every scientific discovery begins with curiosity and our students certainly demonstrated plenty of it.๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
