Wednesday Playtime Just Got an Upgrade!

This week marked the very first Student Representative Council (SRC) DJ & Skipping Fest and It was a huge success, with so many dancers, skippers and requests taken as the SRC DJ'd through playtime.

The SRC will be running this every Wednesday during 2nd lunch (after eating time). It’s the ultimate way to get moving, burn off some energy, and have fun with friends.

Huge thanks to our amazing SRC team for bringing the music and the vibes! See you all on the playground next Wednesday!

Welcome Back to Term 3!
What an incredible and busy first week back at school! Here is a look at what our amazing staff and students have been up to:

Staff Professional Learning: On Monday, our staff spent the day renewing their First Aid Certificates to ensure our school remains a safe and caring environment for everyone.

Future Community Members: The Executive Team has been hard at work conducting enrolment interviews for our Kindergarten Class of 2027! We can't wait to welcome our newest little learners.

Maths Extension Excursion: Today, the St Joseph's Primary School Maths Extension Group kicked off their Term 3 project-based learning task with an excursion to IGA Central, accompanied by Mr Melville! During the visit, students gathered essential information and real-world data to serve as the foundation for their project.

Faith & Sacraments:
On Thursday, our Year 4 students participated in a wonderful Holy Communion Retreat led by the inspiring Ministry Class from St Paul's College. Congratulations to Macie, Darcy, Jaya & Lennox who made their Sacrament of Reconciliation this morning!

Schools Tree Day: Today, as part of our special school tradition, Kindergarten celebrated Schools Tree Day by planting a brand-new lemon tree! Every year, our new Kindy students plant a tree, and thanks to this tradition, we now have quite a few flourishing fruit trees in our school garden

Looking Ahead to Sunday
This Sunday, our school community will come together to celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Students are warmly invited to join us and sing in the Church Choir to help celebrate this special occasion! All Welcome.

That's a wrap!! Term 2 done, and what a jampacked week 11 it has been. Here is a look at what our amazing students got up to:

Tuesday: Out and About
Years 2 & 3 visited the residents of Vincent Court and delighted everyone with their wonderful Eisteddfod performances.

Year 4 visited the RSL Museum and the Rotary Book Shop, a fantastic opportunity to connect with local history and support community literacy initiatives!

On Wednesday we had our NAIDOC Day Celebrations: 50 Years of Deadly! Our school community came together for an incredible, hands-on NAIDOC Day celebration packed with cultural learning, history, and community connection.

The day started with a powerful whole-school assembly, featuring a Welcome to Country, a traditional Smoking Ceremony, and a didgeridoo performance, all set against a beautiful backdrop of historical posters celebrating the last 50 years of NAIDOC history.

From there, students jumped into exciting cultural rotations across all year levels. Students loved the hands-on activities across all grades: Dunghutti language, song, and traditional games. Weaving, making clapsticks, and hand painting. Elder storytelling, rock art, and bushtucker tasting.

Thank you so much to the local community organisations and businesses that supported us with activity stalls, face painting, games, and a fantastic BBQ lunch!

Yesterday, we raised funds for the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal with a cozy PJ/Jersey Day and enjoyed some yummy donuts for a special treat! Thank you to everyone for your support of this very worthy cause, we raised $700!

This morning, we concluded our week with a beautiful Year 4 Holy Communion Commitment Mass, were Fr James narrated parts of the Mass to deeper our students understanding.

Yesterday, our entire school community came together for our annual Athletics Carnival, and what an incredible day it was! From track events and flying long jumps, to the epic vortex throws, tug o war, sack races, frisbee discus, obstacle course and colorful parachute games, the energy, effort, and sportsmanship on display were absolutely second to none.

Whether they were breaking records or cheering their lungs out from the sidelines, every single student participated with a massive smile and fantastic team spirit. We are so incredibly proud of how everyone gave it their best shot!

We’ll be sharing the official house results and a gallery of photos in next Friday’s school newsletter, so keep an eye out!

Some of our Year 4–6 students had a great day at the Sports & Healthy Lifestyle Event in Kempsey today, and the absolute highlight was getting to meet some well known football players!

Not only did our students brush up on their healthy habits and teamwork, but they also got to chat with the players, ask questions, and learn what it takes to train and eat like a pro.

A massive thank you to the players for taking the time to hang out, sign autographs, and inspire our kids to keep moving and dreaming big.
