Well it certainly rained today! We had a great time filling up various containers and guessing which one would fill up first! We then used the water in the sandpit to stir and mix. Everyone got pretty wet and sandy today. We watched Bluey “Rain” and then looked at the book and retold the story.

During Reconciliation week, we have been exploring some Dreamtime stories. Today it was “How the Birds Got their Colours”. We explored the colours and sounds of Western Australian Birds and made our own. We played games pretending to be the yonga, wetj and kwenda (kangaroo, emu and bandicoot). We learned some Aboriginal Symbols and threaded some beads with the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flag. The fun and learning continues tomorrow…….

It’s International Tea Party Day, so we had to have our own Fancy Nancy Tea Party! What a wonderful shared experience it...

It’s International Tea Party Day, so we had to have our own Fancy Nancy Tea Party! What a wonderful shared experience it was, preparing the food, setting the table and decorating together. Many children brought in their own special cup and saucer and tried some Peppermint Tea.
