Today is all about recognising the incredible Education Assistants who help make Grovelands the special place it is.

Every day, our EAs bring patience, care, flexibility and an unwavering commitment to our students. They celebrate successes, navigate challenges, provide encouragement and quietly do countless things behind the scenes to ensure our students feel supported and can be successful.

Their hard work and tireless dedication certainly do not go unnoticed. ❤️

If you see one of our wonderful EAs today, please take an extra moment to say thank you and let them know just how much we appreciate everything they bring to our school.

🌸 Hello, Spring! (a day late!)🌱

GEKOES is welcoming the start of spring with plenty of excitement as our Sustainability Garden begins to come alive!

We’re looking forward to watching the flowers bloom before eventually turning to seed, ready to be harvested, saved and replanted for another growing season. 🌼🌱

And even if today’s flower happens to be crocheted rather than grown in the garden, it’s still a lovely reminder to stop, notice and enjoy the beauty of spring! 🌸☀️

Claims are now open for the third round of the WA Student Assistance Payment.
Eligible WA families can claim:
• $150 for each kindy and primary student
• $250 for each secondary student
to help with school-related costs like uniforms, stationery, excursions and more📚👟🙌

🤸‍♀️🏅 Another Grovelands Student Shining!

A huge congratulations to Stevie, who recently competed in the Gymnastics WA WAG Series and achieved an incredible 3rd place overall! 🥉

An amazing result and a wonderful reflection of the hard work, dedication and determination that goes into competing at this level.

Now there’s an exciting wait ahead, with Stevie set to find out next week whether she has qualified for the Junior State Championships. 🤞✨

It’s Literacy and Numeracy Week, and there’s plenty happening across the school! 📚➕ From our Maths Incursion and Book Week celebrations to a very special EA Appreciation Day, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic week.

🥔🌱 It was harvest time again at Grovelands today!

Our Sustainability Garden delivered another crop of school-grown potatoes, and today we had some very special helpers join in the fun – our first parent volunteers! ❤️

Once the soil was loosened, the hunt was on! Students searched through the garden beds for hidden potatoes in what can only be described as an Easter egg hunt… just without the chocolate! 😂🥔

A huge thank you to our parent helpers for getting stuck in, shovelling soil and sharing the experience with our students. We love seeing our Sustainability Garden becoming another place where students, families and learning come together.

And judging by today's harvest, there were plenty of treasures hiding beneath the soil! 🌱🥔❤️💚💙

🌼💛 Taking the Plunge for a Great Cause!

We’re incredibly proud of one of our amazing teachers, Vicki Fletcher, who alongside her nephew took the plunge into the very chilly ocean on Sunday as part of the Daffodil Cold Plunge for Cancer! 🥶🌊

Together they raised an incredible $600+ to support this important cause – proving that sometimes making a difference means being willing to get very cold! 💪🌼

What a wonderful example of compassion, courage and giving back to the community.

Congratulations Vicki and her nephew – we hope you’ve thawed out by now! 😂👏❤️💚💙

🌱🫛 From Science lesson to Sustainability Garden!

There’s something pretty special growing around Grovelands!

Last term, while exploring Biology in Science, every student at Grovelands germinated their very own seed and received either a pea plant or dwarf bean plant to nurture.

Fast forward to now, and some of those tiny seedlings are thriving in our Sustainability Garden – and we have peas! 🫛🌱

What started as a classroom Science experience has become something students can see growing and changing around their own school. It’s a wonderful example of hands-on learning continuing well beyond the lesson.

From tiny seeds to our first crops – we love watching learning grow at Grovelands! 🌱❤️💚💙
