🏕️ Three Days, Countless Adventures! 🌟

What an awesome three days at Great Aussie Bush Camp! Our students have embraced every challenge, tried new activities, stepped outside their comfort zones and made memories that will last well beyond camp. 💪🌿

From archery and rock climbing to mud runs, high ropes, giant swings and flying foxes, our students have shown incredible independence, resilience and teamwork along the way. They have represented our school with such pride and have been kind, respectful, inclusive and simply wonderful students.

It has been fantastic to see new friendships formed, new skills learnt and plenty of confidence gained. We couldn’t be prouder of how they have conducted themselves throughout the week! ⭐️

A huge thank you to our wonderful instructors, Lewis and Holly. Your guidance, encouragement and good humour made our week so much more memorable -it certainly wouldn’t have been the same without you! 🙌

🐾 While the cats (our clever 3-6s) are away at camp, the mice (aka our super K-2 plus a few crew) sure did play!

Today’s adventure featured popcorn and an exclusive sneak peek of the new Paw Patrol movie 🐶, heaps of giggles on the flying fox swing, hamster wheel runs, super speedy slides, and splishing in the water runnel 🌊. Of course, we recharged with a scrumptious sausage sizzle lunch 🥳🌭(shout out to Mr Hardaker and Mr Kaper).

If you hear reports of pawsome fun, we paws-itively confess: we went a little wild! Campers, hope you’re having as much fun as we did! 😹🎬🏞️

Day 2: Mud, Sweat & Mild Regret! 😱

Another action-packed day at Great Aussie Bush Camp! 🌿🔥

Today we’ve tackled archery, rock climbing, the Lost Island Mud Run, high ropes, the giant swing and a commando adventure through the bush with torches at night! 🏹🧗‍♀️🌉🪵🔦

The giant swing was a solid 2/10 for fun and 10/10 for scariness 😳

From muddy challenges to high-flying adventures, there have been plenty of laughs, brave faces and “why did I agree to this?” moments! We are so proud of everyone for giving things a go and supporting each other through every challenge.

🏕️ Camp life: ACTIVATED! 🌿🏹🦅

We have arrived safely at Great Aussie Bush Camp and are officially settled into camp life!

The adventures have already begun with Bushcraft, Archery and the Dual Flying Fox.
From learning new skills to soaring through the air, our students are embracing every challenge and making memories along the way. 🪵🎯😂

We can’t wait to see what the rest of camp has in store!

🏃‍♀️ North West Athletics Carnival 🏃‍♂️

What a day for our KPPS athletes! 🎉

Our students headed to Tamworth for the North West Athletics Carnival and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts. From giving it their all on the track to cheering on their teammates, they showed determination, enthusiasm and plenty of school spirit. 💚

We’re especially excited to watch those heading off to Homebush compete on the big screen very shortly! What an incredible opportunity, and we can’t wait to cheer you on from KPPS. 📺🏆

Multi class has been a wonderful new addition to sporting events, and we’re so excited to see how it continues to grow and progress. It’s fantastic to see more opportunities for students to participate, compete and celebrate their achievements. 🌟

🪁 A Kite-tastic Father’s Day!

Our early Father’s Day celebration was a little more adventurous than expected!

None of our dads and carers thought they would be making a kite from scratch, but with the guidance of Mrs Harris and her trusty tools, they were up for the challenge. And what a success it was! 🪁

We just needed the wind to tone it down a tad… it was a little too enthusiastic about helping! 🌬️

Thank you to all our wonderful dads and carers for everything you do for your kids. We are so lucky that we could celebrate you today and share a morning full of laughs, creativity and a few flying adventures.

🌱🔬 Science Week at KPPS: Seeds of Science — Nurturing Knowledge for All! 🪨🍄

We’ve been getting our hands dirty and our brains buzzing this Science Week! 🌱🧠

A huge thank you to our special guests Rhyan, our fungi expert and zoologist, and Rose, our geologist extraordinaire, who shared their amazing knowledge about all things fungi, zoology and rocks! 🍄🦘🪨

Our scientists got busy with:
🌱 Creating our very own seed dispersal challenges
💥 Making seed bombs
🔎 Classifying different types of seeds
🪨 Exploring rocks and asking some very important questions!

So, what do you know about rocks, seeds and fungi? You might be surprised by just how much there is to discover! 🌏✨

🎳 WE’RE ON A ROLL! 🎳

Our first ten pin bowling session was a big hit! 🙌 The students had a fantastic time learning a new skill, practising their bowling technique and, of course, keeping a very close eye on their scores!

There was plenty of counting, adding, cheering and celebrating as everyone worked out how many points they had knocked down. 🎳➕🔢

We can’t wait to see those skills (and scores!) improve in our next session!

Today we celebrate the incredible leader of Kelly's Plains Public School.

Mrs Walsh's dedication to ensuring every student feels included, supported and challenged to learn each and every day is truly something special. She goes above and beyond for our students, staff and the wider community, always leading with kindness, encouragement and a genuine passion for education.

Thank you for the unwavering support you show our staff, the care you have for every child, and the positive difference you make to our school community. We are so grateful for everything you do.

We can't wait for all the adventures still to come-especially now that our new bus has arrived! Here's to many more learning experiences on the road (and hopefully no one forgetting the bus keys! 😉).

🎉 Public Education Week at KPPS! 🎉

What a fantastic way to celebrate Public Education Week!

A huge congratulations to everyone who received awards—your hard work, dedication and achievements are something to be proud of. 🌟

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open Day. It was wonderful to welcome so many families and community members into our classrooms to see the incredible learning happening at Kelly's Plains Public School.

Our maths games brought out some fantastic competitive spirit! It was great to see students, families and visitors challenging themselves, cheering each other on and having so much fun with maths.

At KPPS, we believe there are no sad days—just lots of learning, laughter and memorable moments. And if you do happen to have a sad day… well, that's on you! 💚

Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a wonderful celebration of Public Education Week. Here's to many more opportunities to learn, connect and celebrate together!
