Congratulations to our Year 9 Girls Netball team who were crowned Premier League Champions!

The girls certainly did not take the easy route to the title, with both their semi-final and Grand Final heading into extra time. On both occasions, the team showed tremendous composure and resilience under pressure, holding their nerve when it mattered most to eventually emerge victorious.

A massive congratulations to all the girls involved on an outstanding achievement and to Mr Porter for his work coaching and supporting the team throughout their championship season. Well done, Premiers!

💛 R U OK Day at CRC North Keilor 💛
This week, we recognised R U OK Day, with our staff enjoying a well-deserved mobile coffee van and cupcake for morning tea.

R U OK Day is an important reminder that a simple conversation can make a real difference. Checking in with a colleague, friend, family member or student and genuinely asking “Are you OK?” can be the first step in helping someone feel heard, supported and less alone.

It’s also a reminder that we don’t need to wait for one particular day to check in. Building a caring and connected community means looking out for one another every day, noticing when someone might not seem themselves, taking the time to listen and encouraging them to seek support when needed.

Sometimes the smallest gesture - a conversation, a coffee, a smile or simply making time to listen can have the biggest impact on those around us💛

Ask R U OK Any day, because life happens every day.

On Friday, 4 September, we welcomed our wonderful dads, grandfathers and special father figures to the College for our Father’s Day BBQ - an afternoon filled with great food, plenty of laughs and meaningful moments together.

We were also incredibly fortunate to have former AFL footballer Troy Simmonds join us as our special guest speaker. Drawing on his experiences both on and off the field, Troy shared powerful messages about resilience, personal growth, leadership, authenticity and the importance of simply being present.

Troy had our Dads and students up, moving, laughing and fully embracing the session! It was fantastic to see everyone so openly involved in the activities, conversations and challenges he shared.

A huge thank you to Troy for spending the afternoon with our College community he left us feeling inspired, grounded and motivated to make a difference.

And most importantly, thank you to all the Dads, Grandfathers, father figures and students who joined us. Fathers and father figures are often our children’s first teachers, greatest supporters and most loyal cheerleaders. The lessons you pass on through your words, your actions and simply by showing up help shape the incredible young people they are becoming.

We hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day!

Time & Space – An Evening of Connection
Last Thursday evening, our College community came together for a very special Time & Space event, facilitated by Dr Kelly Harris.

Dr Harris is a psychologist who works across primary and secondary school settings and brings with her many years of experience as a teacher, a psychologist and importantly, a parent herself. Her understanding of the joys and challenges of raising young people helped create an evening that was genuine, relaxed and incredibly meaningful.

Throughout the evening, Dads and significant father figures spent time with their sons and daughters – talking, laughing, playing games, sharing stories and exchanging gifts. But perhaps most importantly, they simply had the opportunity to stop and spend time together.

It was incredibly moving to witness some very special moments between our students and their dads. In the busyness of everyday life, we don't always get the opportunity to slow down and really connect with our children. Time & Space gave our families the chance to do exactly that.

There was plenty of laughter throughout the night, but also moments of reflection, emotion and genuine connection. It was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the greatest gift we can give our children is simply our time and our presence.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the parents, students and staff who embraced the evening so wholeheartedly, and to Dr Kelly Harris for facilitating such a meaningful experience for our College community. We are very grateful to have shared in something so special.

Give Your Old Boots a New Life!

Has your child outgrown a pair of football or soccer boots that are still in good, wearable condition? Why not give them a second life and help another young person get involved in sport? 💙

Our school community is supporting the Refurbished Rugby Boots Project, which collects, refurbishes and distributes quality boots to young athletes who may not otherwise have access to them.

We’re looking for:
⚽ Boys’ or girls’ football/soccer boots
✨ Clean and in good condition
👍 No significant damage or excessive wear

Why donate?
The cost of sporting equipment can be a barrier for many young people. Your donated boots could help another young athlete experience the teamwork, confidence, fitness and sense of belonging that sport provides.

📍 Please bring donations to school by 30 October.

Thank you for supporting this worthwhile cause and helping make sport more accessible to young people. 💙

💙 Father’s Day Celebration at CRCNK 💙

We warmly invite our students to celebrate Father’s Day with their father, grandfather or special father figure on Friday, 4 September 2026, from 3:30pm–5:00pm in the Collaborative Space at the College.

This year we are delighted to welcome former AFL footballer Troy Simmonds as our special guest speaker for our Father’s Day event.

Troy enjoyed an impressive 197-game AFL career, playing for Melbourne, Fremantle and Richmond, including appearing in the 2000 AFL Grand Final. Since retiring from football, Troy has continued to inspire others through his work in performance, movement and leadership.

Drawing on his experiences both on and off the football field, Troy speaks about resilience, personal growth, leadership and the importance of being present and authentic. His journey has given him a unique perspective on what it means to be a positive role model and mentor to young people.

We look forward to Troy sharing his experiences, insights and reflections with our fathers and father figures as we celebrate the important role they play in the lives of young people.

The afternoon will provide an opportunity for students and their special person to relax, connect and enjoy some valuable time together.
