Today is the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi. At Padua, St Francis' teachings serve as the backbone to our College, reminding us to live with peace, simplicity, humility, courtesy and joy. Born into wealth, he gave it all away to embrace a life of service by caring for the poor and protecting creation. Today, we celebrate his enduring example of faith, service and compassion.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

This week our Year 12s had the opportunity to attend Senior Study Sessions in preparation for their External Exams. This initiative was led by our Academic Committee and Senior Phase team as one of the many ways we support our students in achieving their academic outcomes. Thank you to our Old Boys Tutors who worked with our Year 12s to guide them through past exam papers, checking syllabus alignment and individual and collaborative study. As we enter the final weeks of their time at Padua, we wish our Year 12 cohort all the best as they continue their preparation into their final assessments and External Exams.

What a weekend it was for Padua Old Boys Harris Andrews (2014) and Lindsay Collins (2013)! We congratulate Harris on securing a third premiership with the Brisbane Lions and wish Lindsay Collins the very best of luck as he competes in the NRL Grand Final, his 150th NRL game. We know Harris and Lindsay will be a particular inspiration to those in our SALIRE program, and we are of all that our Old Boys continue to achieve.
