After a challenging 2024–2026, when Katherine’s parents both faced cancer battles and are now in remission, she focused on what she could offer her father, Boyd. Her family responded immediately. Robert Mitchell visits Boyd twice a week at his aged care home, showing the care behind this fundraiser.

ℹ️ Transparency: This is a private community initiative, not registered under the Charitable Fundraising Act 1991 (NSW), and operates under applicable exemptions for small-scale community fundraising. Boyd has consented; all funds go directly to Boyd; transaction records will be maintained and available on request; no professional fundraiser has been engaged.

lyrebirds are very elusive animals. They are shy, ground-dwelling birds that prefer to run and hide in thick forest undergrowth rather than fly. While you can often hear their loud calls and incredible mimicry, spotting them in the wild takes patience and luck...If you look closely at this image, you may be able to spot the lyrebird.

HELEN LEIS
Katoomba-based artist working predominantly in the woodblock print medium.

Helen Leis has joined Gallery NWC with limited-edition, multiple-colour woodblock prints of locally significant—and sometimes iconic—Blue Mountains landscapes. Soft, woodgrained textured layers build a dreamlike quality in this developing body of work.

🎨 HELEN'S PRACTICE
Her techniques include single-layer and hand-coloured relief prints, jigsaw-method colour prints and multilayer colour prints. Each multilayer colour woodblock edition is a slow, challenging process, usually taking a few months for planning, block preparation and the drying of each ink layer.
