🌈 ABOUT KRISTINE BALLARD

Sydney-based artist Kristine Ballard works in her distinctive style, ‘Fragmatism’. She deconstructs form and reconstructs colour, creating vibrant spaces that encourage us to reclaim colour in our own lives. ✨

A self-confessed colour lover, Kristine has explored her passion across continents, undertaking residencies in New York, Venice and France. Yet it is the unique quality of Australian light that continues to anchor her practice, shaping the radiance and intensity of her palette throughout two decades of artistic work. 🌏☀️

⚒️ We’re also excited to welcome Philip Spark of SPARK METAL to Gallery NWC! ⚒️

Born in Northern England, Philip grew up with a blacksmith in his village and became fascinated by metalwork from an early age. For the past 30 years, he has focused on forging, sculptural fabrication and architectural fabrication. 🔥

Gallery NWC is currently exhibiting Balance 7. Philip describes the work:

“This work is a small combination of forged/fabricated. The two balancing parts are drawn (heated and hammered) from solid square bar, going from precise machine-made square to hand-hammered. The round base is made from things picked up over the years. Although the title is Balance 7, I have made quite a few balancing works. They are a lot of fun and freedom after, say, a difficult and precise balustrade.”

Experience Balance 7 in person at Gallery NWC. 👀
