We had an absolutely brilliant time celebrating Book Week yesterday here at Dayaa!

We were so lucky to have local author Sharon come to read her new book “Snow Day in Australia” and collaborated with Story Garden , the most beautiful children’s store in Lawson, to hold a book fair for families 📚✨ On top of this, the children enjoyed a book character parade followed by a delicious afternoon tea with our families. A big thank you to everyone who came along and joined us for our bookish afternoon!

We are so thrilled to be sharing this news with our community! ⭐️

Together, we have worked on strengthening our practices across every National quality area so that we can provide quality education and care to the children enrolled at Dayaa. Moving to being a “Meeting” rated service is such a big achievement and it feels wonderful to be recognised for all of the hard work, dedication, reflection, commitment to change and care our team have put in.

While we are incredibly proud of our new rating, we know that quality improvement doesn’t stop here. We look forward to continuing on this journey alongside children, families and community 🌱

Remember all the beautiful handmade play food resources our talented educator Meg sewed? Today, she followed this up with our Gumnut children by bringing her sewing machine in to use with them!

The children’s minds and imaginations were captured watching Meg using the sewing machine and then having a bit of a go themselves. We particularly love this first photo of the children wondering how Meg was powering the machine!

We are excited to see where this new project takes them and what they’ve been working on to add to our learning environments… 🧵🪡

The humble beginnings of a potted garden in our playground! 🪴 The educators and children have been working together to learn how to care for them, wondering about what bugs and other pollinators they might attract to our space and even using their senses to notice their similarities and differences. There’s so much learning to be had ☺️

Thank you to the families who have donated pots and plants so far, we can’t wait to see how our garden grows!
