Karratha SHS is an Independent Public School for students in the City of Karratha from Year 7 to Year 12. We pride ourselves on our quality academic, cultural and sporting performances. Karratha SHS would like to celebrate our wonderful Principal, Mr Eversden, and the warmth, care and connection he brings to our school community every day.

Year 11’s night of nights is fast approaching—Friday 14 August. 💃

Tickets must be purchased from the front office before school, after school, at Recess or Lunch. 👍

Parents and carers must provide consent through Compass Events before you can purchase your ticket. ✅

But don’t worry the KSHS Bonds Between Borders Tour 2027 team will be on the BBQ serving $2.50 sausage sizzles at Recess and Lunch. 😊

This year KSHS has combined two of our favourite community events into one epic STEAM Festival. It's a free community event and everyone is invited! 🎉⚡

👏 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗭𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗵 😃

Behind every great school community are amazing parent volunteers!

We recently presented a Certificate of Appreciation and gift to Zuranih Bin Rashid in recognition of the traditional feast she prepared for staff and Clontarf Foundation students during NAIDOC Week last term. 💙

The menu featured turtle curry, kangaroo tail stew, cooked kangaroo tails and rice, giving many the opportunity to experience cultural cooking and even try turtle for the first time.

The feast was warmly received by all and provided a meaningful way to share culture, connection and community. Thank you Zuranih! 🫶

Book Week will be celebrated at KSHS on Wednesday 26 August with a parade at recess. ✨

There will be PBS points up for grabs if you come to school dressed as your favourite book character (including enclosed shoes)!

It's always special when former students return to where their journey began! 😊

Recently, we welcomed back Dr Jay Phang (Class of 1992), who visited Karratha SHS with his son to show him his name proudly displayed on our Honours Board. 👋

As the School Dux in 1992, Dr Phang's hard work and dedication set him on a path to success. Today, he is a respected General Practitioner in Torquay, Victoria, making a difference in his community every day. 👨‍⚕️

The theme of this year’s Visual Arts competition is ‘Every Creature Counts’ and is open to all Years 1 to 12 students who attend a public school within the City of Karratha. 🫟

Submit your entries to the KSHS front office by 17 August. ✅

Winners will be announced at the STEAM Festival on 20 August.
